CHAPTER 13

It was Thursday and the bell had just rang and the kids scurried to class. Riley smacks her books on her desk and Maya sat next to her with a lashed mood. Lucas sat behind Maya and didn't say anything to Riley or Maya. It was too much going on.

"Okay guys, today we are gonna talk more on A Woman's Affliction. I want someone to give me one word on what you thought so far." Mr.Matthews said.

Maya raises her hand and was called on.

"Unfair."

"Unfair? How?"

"Her husband cheated on her and she is the one who dies. It's madness."

"Why is that?" Riley asked Maya.

"Well, maybe it wouldnt have driven her to kill herself it her best friend would have been his mistress!"

"You said it yourself she killed herself. It was her fault she died!"

"Well sometimes things can go so far somebody will already feel dead. Whether it's inside or outside. So why feel dead when you can just be dead!" Maya shed a tear.

"Are you okay Maya?" Mr.Matthews asked.

"I'm always okay." She said faking a smile.

The bell rang and it was time for gym. Riley tried to talk to Maya but Maya walked off.

Everyone was warming up after getting dressed. Lucas walked up to Riley and asked what happen back in class. Riley just shrugged her shoulders. When Maya saw them talking and went beside Lucas.

"Look! If you guys are talking about "helping me" just leave it alone. I don't want to be fixed."

"We weren't"

"Save it!"

Then Billy Ross, an athletic buddy of Lucas walked behind Lucas and patted his back. Lucas turned around and Maya and Riley looked at Billy too.

"Hey Lucas, I here Maya has the flirts for you and Riley's uncle. Maybe she can be my hit and run girl too!" Billy laughed.

Riley and Maya looked at Billy in a: Oh Lucas is gonna kill you. You have ten seconds to run look.

Lucas was fired up now. He had enough of the love drama. He ran into Billy and smcked him into the wall mat.

Both Maya and Riley turns to eachother and looked back to Lucas.

"What did you just say? And how do you know about Riley's uncle and Maya? How do you even know about me and Maya?"

"Dude! Everyone knows! Some stalker made a website of pictures of what has been going on. Then they hacked the school and made it for where whenever some one got on the site, an ad for the website pops up. Its called, Read that.com. It even shows pics of you and Riley kissing.Now get off of me!"

Lucas was confused and angry. So was Maya. The though of a stalker was insane!

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!" Billy said under his breath. But Lucas and Maya heard it.

Lucas stared at Billy and was about to beat him up but Maya jumped on his back fast. Which stopped him because he didn't want to hurt Maya in the process.

"Lucas don't do this ignore him. Who cares what he says!" Maya told him.

"Maya, you heard what he said right! What are you trying to say Billy?"

Billy laughed. "I'm trying to say that this "stalker" put Maya's house under camera patrol. He had it surrounded. It showed Maya's mom bringing in men for-- you know, to bring in money. She even had three guys there. It is hilarious."

Maya got off of Lucas's back and ran out of the gym into the Janitors closet.

All she coals do was cry. She kept trying to hold it ball but it came out so rough and vowed.

"Heartbreak huh?" Janitor Harley asked.

"How did you know?" Maya asked wiping her tears.

"I know because whenever you are heartbroken you choke on your breathes. You try to hurt yourself cause you feel your the one to blame for every situation."

"What do you mean me? Don't you mean when people?"

"I knows you Maya, broken inside. Rebellious scared girl who just wants to make yourself NOT the center of attention. I know you all."

Riley and Lucas bust I'm and hugged Maya. She hugged them back but was still hurt.

"I just want to leave the school. Bye!" She tried to walk out but Lucas grabbed her by the shoulders and picked her up. Keeping her from leaving.

"No Maya!" Riley shouted like an angry mother.

"I'm sick of messing everything up!" She yelled.

"We gonna sit here and figure out who has been leaking us!" Lucas said.

Then they all heard a loud noise of laughter. The went outside the closet and saw Maya's mother kissing a strange man.

"Who is that Maya?" Riley asked.

After still hearing people laughing and pointing at Maya.

"My mom's boss." She wanted to run but felt herself freeze.
Riley grabbed Maya's hand. Then Lucas went up to the screen and punched so hard it cracked.
"Shut up, you all are idiots. I cannot believe that you guys can actually can laugh at her. She did nothing to you guys and you sit here and be mean. One day somebody is going to laugh at you and you''ll feel the pain. Think about that." Lucas walked up to Maya. "Maya, I know your mad at me but can you just come with me this one last time?" Maya turned to Riley and Riley shook her head in acceptence. Maya half smiled.

Lucas grabbed Maya's hand and lead her to his passage way. They walked out of the school which was strange to Maya because Lucas wasn't a rule breaker. After a while, Maya noiced that they were in the subway. A train came and they got on. Lucas sat on the same exact place he did when they first met. And he told Maya to stand where she was when they first met.

"Its time for ME, to make the first move." He said walking up to her and grabbing her hand. 'Maya Hart, would you like to go out on a date with me? She heart throbbed at the question. "Lucas I-.." Maya stopped. She saw him. Him. Not Lucas, Him. Joshua. He caught her glare and walked up to Lucas and laid his hand on his shoulder.

"My man Mr.Friar!" Lucas cringed and turned around. "What do you want Mr. Josh..ua" Trying to be clever yet respectful. "What do you want Josh?'' Maya asked a bit afriad. "The question is why are you two skipping school?"

"Josh, just leave." Maya exclaimed.

''Yeah, after this." Joshua swung on Lucas but Lucas ducked. Then flipped Joshua. Making him hit his head on the pole. Everyone was stunned. Maya tried to stop them but failed. Then Joshua punched Lucas in his stomach making Lucas fall and weak. Then Joshua got on Lucas and grabbed his head banging it on the floor, 1...2...3...4...5...6....7...8....9.....10...11..12...13..14......15...16. Then Josh got up. Blood flowed from Lucas's head. Maya screamed and made them stop the train to get an ambulance.

The ambulance got him off the train and called his family and Maya's. They even called the school. Everything was blurry from there
