When Maya woke up she was no longer in the arms of Joshua. But there was a note on the bed. It read: I went out to see New York in the flesh. Stall for me? Tell them I am still in bed or something. Hopefully they believe. Anyway, I hope when I get back I still see your pretty face! Okay bye. -Joshua
So she went downstairs and nobody even asked where Joshua was. Mostly because she knew they knew that he was always wondering off somewhere. No one really talked at the table at all. After breakfast Maya got dressed and went in Joshua's room. After Maya was done she opened the door and was about to leave but saw a that she left her boots on the floor. When she was picking them up she heard footsteps. She turned to see Riley at the door.
"Hey Maya," she said.
"Hey, um, I'm sorry for not sleeping in your room last night. I was watching tv with Josh and I guess we fell asleep."
"That's funny because the tv is broken."
"Oh. Well, um, you see. We streamed it on my phone."
"Really?"
"Yeah! If it sounds believable!"
"Maya, I'm sick of the lies."
"What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean! Its all you have been doing. Not telling me the truth about things. I have to figure out the hard way!"
"Oh you think you have to figure things out the hard way?"
"What?"
When Maya was about to confront Riley, Joshua came through the window.
"Hey guys! Whats going on in here?"
Neither of the girls talked. Riley just walked off.
"Yeah just walk off like you always do!"
Maya yelled. She got her boot and walked off.
Joshua had no idea what was going on. He figured it was just more Riley and Maya drama.
