'Rosalie!' Newt's voice. It was in a land far, far away. Only a void sound.
'Rosalie!' I woke up. Newt was still laying next to me, and he was watching me. 'Good, you're awake. Good morning love.'
'Good morning... what is it?'
'I would like to have my arm back that's all.' He laughed. I was using his arm as a pillow, so I lifted my head. He stood up and leaned over me and gave me a kiss on my lips. It felt so good.
'We slept in, it's 9 o'clock. I'm going to get us breakfast.'
'Okay.'
Clint walked in and when he saw we had woken up he said 'Good, you two love birds are awake. We didn't want to wake you guys up because, well, you both need your rest.'
'You saw us laying in bed?' I asked.
'Oh yeah, well, not just me actually. The whole Glade knows about your sleep over.' He smirked.
'Are you serious?' Newt asked.
'No, I'm kidding. Just me.' Clint laughed and looked over at me 'How are you feeling today? You look a bit better.' Newt walked out to get us some food.
'My head still hurts but I feel just fine. Please, can I get out of bed now? This isn't my thing. I'm bored.'
Clint laughed and said 'You can get out of bed soon enough. You've lost a lot of blood and you need to rest a little longer.'
'I agree with him.' Newt had come back with two sandwiches.
'Okay, well, it still sucks. Can I at least go to the bathroom?' I answered. I had to pee and I wanted to see how I looked.
'Sure, we'll help you.' Clint said.
'No, I got it, man, thanks.' Newt answered.
Clint walked out and I tried to sit up. I groaned and Newt helped me. 'I feel so weak. You always have to help me. I... I'm tougher than that.'
'Oh, I know you are. You're tougher than most of us, because you're still here. Your will to survive is really big. And because you can handle all.. that. But you lost a lot of blood.'
I smiled. Newt helped me stand up and placed his arm around my chest. We walked, well he walked... it was almost like he was dragging me. I had zero strength in my legs. When we were at the bathroom he helped me take my pants off and all that. It wasn't awkward, he just took care of me. Like a big brother would. He helped me sit down and left the bathroom. 'Let me know it when you're done.' he said.
When I was done, he came back and helped me to the sink. There was a big mirror against the wall, so I looked at it. I was a bit in shock, I looked terrible. My skin was as pale as a death person, or at least how I imagined a death person to look like. I had a big bandage on the right side of my forehead, and a bruise on my left cheek. I wore a green t-shirt, and I saw a bruise on my arm, where Steven had gripped me. The horrible memories flew back. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block them.
'Are you okay, love?'
'I'm fine... I look terrible. Please tell me Steven looked similar.'
'He looked worse. You're still beautiful, he was a ugly shank. Plus, we hit him good.' Newt answered, and smiled but it was more like a grimace.
Newt escorted me back to my bed and let me lay down carefully, like I was a object that was easily broken. He was so good to me. 'What did I do to deserve you?' I asked him.
'I wonder the same thing. What did I do to deserve such a wonderful person like you?' His face was close to mine so I leaned towards him and placed a long kiss on his lips, as a token of my love.
We ate our sandwiches and I felt so tired. Before I went back to sleep, I told Newt he didn't have to watch over me. I wanted him to enjoy his day. Outside, not here in this dark room. He squeezed my hand and told me he didn't mind. But finally he agreed.
I fell asleep almost immediately after Newt left.
