Everybody looked shocked, looking at each other or looking at the ground.  'What...?' was all Minho could bring out. I couldn't speak. I suddenly felt really sick in my stomach and I had the feeling I had to puke. I took a step back and looked at the ground, trying to focus on one spot. I was breathing unevenly and fast, and tried to relax.

'He was killed by a Griever. More people are missing, maybe dead. The Grievers just took of, but they distroyed the whole place.' Terror went through my body. Alby was dead, and maybe a couple of others. While we'd found a way out. They would have come with us, going out of this place. 'No...' I said, almost cring again.

I stumbled back and sat down on the ground. 'No, no, no...'
I looked up and Newt's face. A couple of tears were streaming down his face, but he wiped them away. 'I'm so sorry, Newt.' I said, almost whispering.

'Yeah, me too. They were supposed to come with us tomorrow.' His voice was harder, stronger, he was trying to stay strong for us, the boys, for me. He was the leader now. He knew that.

He sat down next to me. 'We'll stay here for the night, because the doors aren't closed yet so they can come back. Everyone try to sleep a little.'
Newt glided down beside the wall and I did the same thing. I laid my head on Newt's shoulder, I felt he was shaking a bit but so was I, this was just too horrible.

Chuck laid down next next to me, he rested his head on my lap. I felt so bad for him, for everyone here. I softly brushed my fingers through his curly hairs. "It'll be okay," I promised whispering.

All the boys faces were filled with horror and fear, of what had had happened and what might come. I hadn't noticed it until now, but Gally sat in a corner whispering to a boy while he looked over at Teresa and Thomas. I knew what he thought. He thought it was their fault. It had all started with the note. But I wouln't believe it. They were innoncent.

Boys laid down on the ground, some against the wall. I looked over at Minho again. Our eyes met but I looked away, glancing at Newt's face. He was staring at the ground and I knew that I couldn't say a thing that would make him feel better.
I closed my eyes, still leaning against Newt, who'd put his arm around me, and after a long while I fell asleep.
