Once the door clicked shut behind our friends, the apartment fell into a comforting silence, the kind that only comes after a night filled with laughter and noise. I let out a long breath and lean against the wall, watching Jungkook as he started to gather the empty pizza boxes and stray cups. The room feels a little emptier without the usual chaos, but it was a peaceful kind of emptiness.

Munie, who had spent most of the evening being passed around from friend to friend, sits on the floor, his big eyes blinking sleepily as he gazes up at me. A soft smile tugging at my lips as I walk over, crouching down beside him.

"Hey, you," I whisper, reaching out to tickle his little belly. Munie lets out a soft giggle, his tiny hands reaching up to grab at my fingers. God, how can someone be this cute? How?! My heart always melts at this sight. "You had a long night, baby? Were Taehyung and Jimin too much for you?"

He cooes in response, babbling nonsense as he grabs onto my finger with his little fist, tugging me closer. I laugh softly, feeling a rush of warmth fill my chest. Moments like this—where it was just me and Munie, away from the craziness and the weight of our situation—makes everything feel a little lighter.

I scoop him up, settling him onto my lap as I sit cross-legged on the floor. He leans into me, his head resting against my chest as his tiny hands played with the fabric of my shirt. His closeness sends a familiar pang through my heart, one that I tried so hard to ignore but couldn't. I used to be good at keeping things under control, keeping my emotions at bay, but Munie had shattered all of that. His existence does very weird things to my heart. He had wiggled his way into my heart without me even realizing it, and now, the thought of letting go of him felt impossible.

We had agreed—Jungkook and I—that we'd give it six months. Six months of raising Munie together, pretending to be a family, and seeing if we could manage it. But now, here we are, and those six months are passing faster than I want them to. I'm getting attached, more than I'd ever planned to, more than I could admit out loud. And the thing is that Munnie isn't the only male specimen I'm getting attached to.

"Ah, much better now," Jungkook's voice pulls me from my thoughts. I turn to see him walking over, having finished cleaning up the kitchen after our impromptu dinner party. He wipes his hands on a towel before tossing it aside, his smile soft as he glances between Munie and me. "You two are always having the best time without me, huh?"

I grin, rolling my eyes. "Please, you were busy playing video games."

He laughs, settling down on the floor beside us. "True. But now I'm here. What's my spot, huh, Munie? Where is it?"

Munie's face lit up at the sight of Jungkook, his chubby arms flailing excitedly as he reaches for him. Jungkook's smile softens, and he leans in, scooping him up from me and into his arms, lifting him high in the air. Munie squeals with delight, his giggles echoing through the room as Jungkook spins him around, holding him above his head.

I watch them, unable to stop the smile that spreads across my face. It is such a simple moment, but the warmth it brought was overwhelming. Seeing Jungkook with Munie, the way he looks at him like a baby is his whole world—it is easy to forget everything else. Easy to forget that we are just pretending. Geez, how can both of them be so cute and loving?

For a few moments, it feels real.e

"Look at him," Jungkook says, his voice filled with awe as he lowers Munie back down into his lap. "He's getting bigger, isn't he?"

I nod, reaching out to brush a stray curl of Munie's hair out of his face. "Yeah, he is. Growing up too fast."

Jungkook glances at me, his expression softening even more. "I think we are good with him, you know?"
