Chapter 56

Waking up later that same day I felt a lot better than I had this morning. I could hear music downstairs as I freshened myself up changing into some mint green khaki shorts and a plain white top.

Heading down to where I could hear all the noise originating, I found everyone in the back garden enjoying the sunshine. Dad saw me first and waved me over smiling "You feeling better?" He asked me.

"Definitely," I tell him as I take Rosalie out of his arms and snuggle her against my neck inhaling her perfect baby scent and earning two little hands fisted into my hair.

Laughing dad gets up and helps me untangle her, once I'm free I take a seat beside dad and look to see where Sophia is.
I spot Xeres holding her while talking to a girl I've never met before and turn to dad with raised eyebrows.
He laughs and shakes his head at me looking pleased "She's his girlfriend," he tells me amused "he kept her quiet from all of us, even you!"

Frowning at Xeres when he turns and sees me I raise my eyebrows at him too, and he sends me a smug grin back. Grabbing his girlfriend he brings her and Sophia over to us.

"Bella, this is Toni my girlfriend. Toni, this is Bella my niece and mom to these two beauties." He introduces us both. Toni surprises me when she leans down and hugs me gently, careful of Rosalie who's still in my. arms. "It's so nice to finally meet you!" She tells me "Xeres has told me so much about you all."

"Really? He's told me nothing about you!" I tell her and we both turn to glare at him making dad laugh and Xeres take a step back looking slightly scared.

"Hey! In my defence I wanted to keep her all to myself, I'm selfish like that." He replies making me grin.

Maddox is working away at the huge grill near the pool with Ivan and finally notices me. He hands the manning of the grill over to a pleased Ivan and makes his way over to me.

Leaning over Rosalie he captures my lips in a slightly more chaste kiss than I was expecting "Hey baby," he replies grinning when he pulls away making me pout at him. "You okay now?"

"Loads better," I tell him honestly "Who arranged all this?" I ask motioning to everyone who was currently in our garden; most of them complete strangers.

"I did," Dad replies from beside me. "I thought it was time for you to meet everyone again after last time was such a disaster."

"Oh, well then thanks dad."

"No problem." He assures me.

Ivan captures my attention by waving his meat tongs at me and motions down at the delicious smelling food he's cooking. I nod eagerly and he holds a plate up to Maddox and waves him over. Maddox sighs loudly pretending to be affronted "I suppose I'll be your slave today then my lady?" He asks me and stands bowing down to me making everyone laugh.
