Waking up with a pounding headache hadn't been my plan for Thanksgiving morning. After taking some pain pills and finding out a pair of dark sun glasses, I somehow managed to get everything that needed to be done for the meal later on.
Maddox wasn't as bad as me, having the brains to not drink as much as I had done and he took care of the girls for me while I dashed about the kitchen trying to get it all done at once. Alicia helped me out a little but she was exhausted from watching the girls last night so after I had everything under control I thanked her telling her to go rest.
I'd planned the meal out so that it would be all ready for dinner time and finally it was going smoothly. The food smelled incredible, and I knew it would taste as food too - not that I'm bragging or anything. The guys are all in the lounge watching a game on TV again, and steering clear of the kitchen like I'd asked them to.
Xeres even went out to a local subway that I was surprised at, and bought everyone lunch so I didn't have to worry over that which I was grateful for.
The girls are currently curled up in their moses baskets near the back doors with Luke guarding while I finished everything off.
It was too noisy in the lounge for them to sleep, so I'd brought them in here so Maddox didn't miss out on the game either.Setting the huge dining room table I couldn't keep the smile off my face. Today was going exactly how I wanted it to, and I was proud at achieving it all nearly by myself.
"Bella?" I hear someone calling from the kitchen and start walking back that way to see what's up.
"Yeah?" I call back quietly.
Maddox comes down the hall so quickly I almost bump into him, he's smiling so I know it's not trouble.
"What's wrong?" I ask him anyway.
"Nothing, baby," He assures me "Just checking up on you, you okay?" He asks me as he places a gentle kiss on my forehead and brings me into his arms.
"Fine, I'm good. Foods almost ready, the game done?"
"Yeah," He says grinning wider "My team won."
"I bet dad and Ivan aren't very pleased then, huh?"
"Nope," He says.
Shaking my head at him I cuddle closer and just relax for a few minutes. Hearing a timer go off in the kitchen I groan and reluctantly step away from him "Duty calls," I grumble "Wanna help?" I ask hopefully and give him the puppy-dog-eyes for good measure.
