Evie sits in the bedroom she shares with Musa at Mulan's home, the rhythmic whir of her sewing machine filling the air. She's meticulously crafting another design, a new addition to the clothing line she had proudly shown Musa before the chaotic Mogwai incident. Musa enters, her presence immediately shifting the room's atmosphere. She settles quietly on her bed, observing Evie with a knowing gaze. Evie pauses her work, her hand instinctively reaching up to rub her shoulder, a lingering reminder of the earlier ordeal.

"Did one of those weights hurt you, Evie, when you climbed that pole Mulan volunteered you for?" Musa asks, her voice laced with concern. Evie sighs, "Yes, but I pushed past it; I wasn't about to fail in front of a crowd." Musa presses further, "Which one was it that hurt?" Evie's gaze drifts towards the floor. "The weight of Discipline. If my Mother were here, she'd be able to climb that without even sagging on her shoulder. She's practically been forced to be strong and disciplined all her life, much like soldiers. Princesses are a lot like them too, whether or not they start born into the family or marry into the royal family." Evie admits, her voice tinged with disappointment. "I'm disappointed to tell her I didn't become as disciplined as she is, Musa."

Musa's gaze intensifies, her eyes searching Evie's face. "There is more you're not saying, hanging on your lips, Evie." she urges gently.

Evie visibly recoils, stammering, "I don't know what you are talking about." Musa shakes her head, her expression resolute. "Evie, you and I are not preppy kids; you're hiding too much of your Isle of the Lost origins and roots. If you don't show off your true-self here in the United States of Auradon then the streets named after you on the Isle of the Lost hold little meaning."

Evie gasps, the force of Musa's words hitting her hard. "I guess I got carried away into the Auradon world that all my shiny toys blinded me about making symbolism count and stand out." she admits, the realization dawning on her.

"A prep school will definitely fry your brain out, Evie, daughter of Queen Grimhilde." Musa retorts, her tone laced with both humor and seriousness.

Evie falls silent for a moment, processing Musa's words. "Maybe the weight of discipline was a sign, a forewarning of the pain to come if I don't get back in control of my discipline." she says, a new understanding taking root within her. She recognizes that Mulan's unexpected volunteer call was a challenge, a test of the layers of her being that she still hadn't fully unearthed from her Isle of the Lost origins.

"I still can't believe you were really listening to those Good To Be Bad Lyrics actually. I barely had time to register what Mal and I were saying when we wrote that together, Musa." Evie comments.
"Really you wrote what you said without intentionally understanding it yourself, Evie?! That's boldly dangerous, Evie." Musa responds. "Mulan was right your overconfidence aura is like a cold pack on a hot summer day shock to snakes."

"Excuse moi, what did you just say my overconfident is like a snake on a cold pack on a too hot summer day? I am confused. Very confused, Musa. What are you getting at?" Evie asks bewildered by the analogy.
"You've never kept tabs on your overconfidence slipping your mind away with it have you, Evie?" inquires Musa.

Evie remains oblivious to her own tendencies. She has her own way of doing things, especially when it comes to fashion, often neglecting others' tastes and limitations. She recalls how Mal reacted to her original boat party ball gown, and how she disregarded Mal's upset phase when she needed support. She still hasn't fully brought that Isle of the Lost spice to Auradon, even though she has reconciled with the fact that she will forever be an Isle of the Lost child, just like the other three.

"I see it now," Evie says sadly. She wasn't being the strong buffer that not only Mal needed but also every new Isle of the Lost kid to come. Perhaps, Evie finally understands that she needs to embrace her true self, the Isle child that she truly is, while navigating the complexities of Auradon.
