Mitch's POV:

I got in the car to my mother looking at me questioningly. "Yes?" She shook her head and smiled. I rolled my eyes at her and spoke up "Mom, I know you want to say something! Just say it please." That's when she sighed and started talking "Why were you so late today Mitchie? Did you finally meet a new friend?" I knew this was coming. "Can we go home and talk about it?" She nodded and said nothing else. Only my mom would try to interrogate me as soon as I get in the car. I sighed and looked out the window looking at the occasional green scenery, but mostly buildings before my mind drifted to a certain tall, blonde boy.

He had said his name was Scott. Scott fit him well, I thought. So did his hair now that I think about it. The way it lit up under any kind of light. His eyes, they were so blue. I've never seen anyone's eyes that deep blue, they were more like little orbs that hold the ocean. I must have been thinking about Scott the entire drive because when I came to my senses my mom was getting out of the car.

Once we were settled inside, that's when the conversation started back up. I sat down on the couch as I heard my mother tell my dad that she thinks I have a new friend. I mean she wasn't wrong, but we weren't really classified as "Friends" yet. "Mitchell, what's this I hear about a possible new friend?" He asked as he sat down next to me on one side as my mom sat on the other. I was boxed in and they knew it. "Uhm, I guess I have a new friend. H-His name's Scott Hoying," I started "He stopped me before I left and asked if I wanted to hang out tomorrow before our performance." It was quiet before I heard my mom squeal. "Sweetie, that's great! Especially since he's a Hoying! Your dad, here, works with his father." I felt my eyebrows scrunch up as I looked at my father. He nodded and said he was close to, Rick, Scott's dad. "So does that mean we can hang out tomorrow?" I asked curiously.

Before they could answer, the house phone rang...

I looked at both my parents and got up to get the phone.

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"Uhm, H-Hi. Is this the Grassi Residence?" said the voice on the other line.
