Scott and Mitch's friendship grew day by day. From the constant calling to hanging out at each others houses, they were inseparable. Each family considered each boy as their son and were willing to go out of their way to provide anything they needed.

As years went the parents noticed how close the boys were. This was more than the typical best friend relationship. It had grown from 2 little boys appreciating each others company to the question that was in their minds lately... Were their sons falling for each other?

One day when Mitch came home from being with Scott, his parents decided to have the "talk" with him.

"Son, your mother and I have been watching you and Scott lately," he said "We were wondering if you thought it felt strange being so close?" Mitch looked at his father with raised eyebrows, "Strange being so close? What are you guys getting at here?" "Sweetie. Mitchell, it's nothing personal we are just worried you're getting into something that will hurt you in the end." said his mother softly. "Guys, seriously! What is going on right now?" Mitch said on the verge of yelling, "Mitchie," his mom started "are you--" Mitch sighed. "Is this really happening? You sat me down to ask me if I was gay?!" Both parents looked at each other then to Mitch. "Oh my gosh, you did!" the tears started to come down Mitch's cheek as he looked at his parents just sitting, looking, judging him.

Mitch couldn't believe he was being confronted about his relationship with Scott AND being gay. "Sweetie, we aren't gonna be mad or upset if you are. We just want you to be happy." His mom stated. "Then you wouldn't have brought up me and Scott's relationship! Is it because we're close? Was it because you felt uncomfortable with your 13 year old son being SO close to another boy? Is it because I happen to like that boy?" Mitch's eyes widen. "Holy... I-I'm gay!" Mitch said as he looked at his parents with more tears filling his eyes.

"I-I'm gay." And with that Mitch collapsed into his parents arms and cried.
