Chapter 27

It's now Saturday, August 4th and I was preparing to get Aiden registered for 2nd grade. "Are you ready for school, baby?" I smiled as I buttoned up his shirt and adjusted his collar. "Yeah kind of. But I will miss being home with you all day" he pouted. I laughed, "It's okay buddy, you won't be gone forever" I smiled at him. "Now let's go take a beautiful picture for mommy okay?" I smiled at him. "BIG SMILES FOR ME AIDEN!" Nate yelled from the kitchen as we left. "MAMA I COME TOO?!" Annica screamed, stomping her feet. I sighed. "Baby, you stay with daddy. I'll be back soon" I said kissing her cheek. She pouted and went and sat on Nate's lap. I walked back over to Nate and kissed him quickly, "I'll be back" I mumbled against his lips. He nodded and cuddled Annica while she cried because I told her she couldn't come with. He rubbed her back and signaled for me to go before she gets worse.

"Okay buddy take a nice picture for mama! Remember big smiles" I smiled as he went up for his picture. He stood as he was told and smiled big. "I'm so proud," I mumbled, bring my hand over my mouth. "He yours?" The lady next to me asked. I nodded. "He's adorable. What teacher does he have? My son and daughter will be in Mrs. Kuzzos class" she told me. I glanced down at his schedule, "What a coincidence, Aiden is in her class too!" I smiled. "Oh how wonderful! I'll introduce them so they can become friends" she smiled. Aiden came running back to me, "You took a good one bug, im proud of ya. I want you to meet someone" I smiled. "This is Mrs.-" I stopped because I don't remember getting her name. "I'm Mrs. O'Connell but you can cal me Mrs. Amy for my first name. This is Jace and Cassie. They will be in your class Aiden!" She smiled. "I'm Anastasia Maloley, and this is Aiden" I smiled. "So nice to meet you guys. I hope you guys can be friends!" She smiled. "Is he your only child?" Amy asked. I shook my head, "No, my youngest is at home with her dad. Her names Annica" I said. "She's three" Aiden added. I smiled. "Nice, well we have to run but I'm sure I'll see you al around!" Amy said. "Bye, nice meeting you! Bye Jace, Bye Cassie" me and Aiden waved. Aiden held onto my hand as we walked back out to the car. He stopped. "Can I sit up front mama? I promise I'll behave" he begged. "Of course, let's go" I smiled. He nodded and walked with me. We reached the car and he climbed up front with me.

"They seemed nice, huh?" I asked Aiden, who was focused on the game on my phone. "Mhm" he mumbled. "You think that you, Jace and Cassie will be friends?" I asked looking over at him. He shrugged. "I hope so. Only if they're nice to me" he said. I laughed, "Good reason" I smiled. We pulled into our driveway, seeing Nate and Annica running around. "Looks like they're having fun without us, huh?" I giggled getting out. He nodded. "Hey look, they're home," Nate said pointing at us. Annica ran to Aiden and I, squeezing us. I laughed. "What do you want for dinner?" Nate asked me. "You're gonna cook?" I asked. He looked down, "Well I was going to try!" He chuckled. "Frozen pizza" I said. He laughed. "Stasia, seriously!" He laughed, wrapping his arms around my back. "Surprise me then" I said. He nodded and walked us all inside. "So Aiden, how did pictures go?" Nate asked. "Good, my picture looks really nice. You'll like it" he smiled. "Good" he smiled back. "Aiden tell him what else happened?" I said. "Oh yeah while I was getting my picture done mama was talking with a lady and it turns out she has two kids that will be in my class, Jace and Cassie" he said. "Wow, that'll be fun, huh? Make good friends buddy, ones that last a lifetime" he told him. He nodded, "he already told me that he's only gonna be friends with them if they are nice to him" I said smiling. "That's good. He learns from the best" Nate smirked. I nodded and took Aiden and Annica into the living room, putting on Snow White while Nate cooked.

"Ana, kids cmon and eat!" Nate called. Holy shit did he cook? I thought. It's a miracle. We walked into the kitchen and I got the kids in their seats. "Whatcha make, baby?" I asked hugging Nate from behind. "Lemon Peppered chicken, Mashed potatoes, and corn. My mom use to make it al the time.(A/N: my mom actually makes this for me😛). "It looks really good, Nathan." He smiled, "I hope it's like moms" he said. I put a little bit of everything on Annica and Aidens plate, followed by mine. "Mama can you cut it for me?" They both asked. I nodded siding their plates to me.
"Nate this is really, really good" I said as I finished everything on my plate. "I'm glad you liked it," he smirked. "It's the first meal I didn't burn" he laughed. "Did you two like it?" He asked. Aiden nodded and Annica was silent. "Annica?" Nate said snapping her out of whatever thoughts she had. "I like it daddy" she smiled. I giggled, "She doesn't pay attention, just like her mama" I said. Nate smiled. "I'll do the dishes, Aiden wanna help mama and dry them?" I asked him. He nodded and get up with me. "You two can go watch movies," I said, "We will be done soon to join you" I smiled. Nate smiled back and took Annica to go pick a movie. I washed up the dishes quickly and let Aiden dry them so I can put them away. "Thank you for helping me buddy" I said grabbing his cheeks and kissing his forehead. "You're welcome mommy" he said. "Wanna go watch movies with them?" I ask him. "Can we go cuddle in your room instead? I don't feel well" He said. I smiled. "Of course we can. Come on" I smiled as I let him on my back. "Wait I thought we were watching movies?" Nate said confused as he rubbed Annicas back. "He wants mamas cuddles since he doesn't feel well" he frowned and nodded. "We will be in our room" I said. Nate nodded and continued watching their movie. I stopped in Aiden room so he could put his pajamas on, "I'll meet you in my room okay Aiden? I'm gonna go change too" I smiled. He nodded and slowly slipped into his pajamas. As I was putting on a pair of Nates sweatpants, Aiden crawled onto the bed. "Aren't those daddy's?" He asked giggling. "Yes they are" I smiled. "Why are you wearing them?" He asked. "Why not?" I laughed crawling in bed with him, watching as he curled up in my side. I rubbed his back as we watched cartoons.

"Stasia? You still awake?" I heard Nate. "Mmmmm" I whined rolling over, careful jus in case Aiden was still by me. "Take that as a no. I took Aiden to bed" he said. "Cuddles" I mumbled. The bed sunk next to me as I was pulled into his arms. "I love you lil ma" Nate mumbled against my cheek. "I love you too," I said, falling into a deep sleep.
