We walked in slowly, possibly because he knew how tense I felt. When we came right inside from the door all the laughter and joy I heard suddenly went dead. I didn't bother to know why, they knew I wasn't like them. I could see their piercing red eyes gazing at me wondering if I was tasty.

Not thinking, I moved closer to Scott to get his attention to keep me away from them. When I moved close suddenly a loud voice spoke high.

"Who is this lovely woman?" She looked at me with a half smile. She had platinum blond hair flowing down her back and red eyes to indicate the vampire identity. She wore a 80's gown with pearls on the waist, making her look magnicicent and royal. Everyone staring at me had a new face, wonder.

"My name is Ayla," I whispered quietly.

"Last name?" I looked at her blankly.

"My father believed last names are unimportant for our kind," I explained.

The others finally started talking again, but never took their eyes off me. The younger looking woman stayed with interest.

"How very odd...Well, my name is Azkadellia. I'm Scott's mother," She said it smoothly like it's not odd for someone who looks 16 to have a 17 year old son.

"Hello, nice to meet you," I spoke. She gave a pat on my shoulder with a smile.

"Likewise, now I must depart talk soon," she ringed in the air as she rushed off to another side of the house.

I looked to see Scott giving me an amused smile. "Why was everyone looking at me?" I still saw many lingering. He laughed.

"Considering you're not a vampire and my mom is the leader of vampires, I could see a reason why." He gave me a devilishly smile. I couldn't help smiling back, but hit him in the shoulder in the process.

"Not funny, I can't believe she's a leader! My father would not allow this." I sighed quietly.

"Your father is not here," he winked. I sighed deeply to his annoyance. "I need to go help my mom, can you survive for a while?" He asked me in a childish voice that I didn't approve of. I gave him a glare, not needing to give an answer, and started to walk away to the living room. I swore I heard him chuckle to me as he left.

When I sat down a girl around the age of 19 came over and sat beside me. She had black hair and a blue silky dress that stopped at her knees. She flashed a sweet smile with no fangs but showing sparkly ruby eyes.

"Hey, are you Ayla?" She asked me with a little to much excitement.

"Yea, who are you?"

"My name is Carissa, I just wanted to meet the one girl everyone is talking about." She started talking faster making it hard to keep up.

"Everyone is talking about me?" I didn't like the sound of that, especially from vampires.

"Yeah, your like the big deal! Dating my brother and not being a vampire is totes gossip in this world." She made a small giggle as I tried to see why she said totes and that I am dating her brother.

"You think I'm dating a vampire?!" I said it a little to horrific making her feel offended. She gave me a cold look, talk about bi-polar.

"Not just any vampire you idiot, my brother and soon to be leader," she said it with authority in her small voice. Scott! She thinks that we are dating!

"Oh! I am not dating Scott," I told her calmly, to make sure I wouldn't get her cold gaze again. All she showed was confusion, but just brushed it off.

"Well, I am his sister so if you ever hurt him, I will hurt you," She didn't need to tell me twice that it was a threat. After that she gave me a tight hug and literally skipped away.

I honestly don't understand these vampires. They barely keep a conversation under 3 minutes!

I was about to get up when my phone started ringing the obnoxious song that came with the phone.

"Hello?" The other end sounded like static.

"Hey my little demon," a dark voice chuckled. I checked to look for a caller ID. Blank.

"Do I know you?" I said it as brave as I could, but I think he felt a hint of fear.

"As always I am with you," He replied. What does that even mean? And why does he sound so...familiar? I looked around me to see if any vamps watched me. I saw no one except for Scott in the kitchen helping his mom, clueless.

"Listen here, I don't know who you are or what you think you are, but you have no right to talk that crap to me. How do you know I'm even a demon? Only one person knows and you ain't him," I quickly added, " And learn how to make damn sense."

Before he could reply I hung up looking frustrated and scared.

I couldn't get what he said out of my mind.

As always I am with you

"I shall like to make a toast to my darling son and my lovely daughter for helping me with this beautiful party. Also, to Ayla for coming to celebrate." She gave me a warm smile and everyone screamed 'cheers' clinking their glass together. She insisted I stayed for her dinner and I couldn't decline. Scott's my ride home.

"Thank you Azkadellia, such a honor to be here with you," I gave a smile back to her and started to eat my meal. Everyone stayed quiet most of the time, until Carissa ruined it.

"Ayla, where are your parents?" I looked at her to hide my sad pain and answered in monotone.

"My parents are far gone," I looked down quickly to try not to cry. She didn't notice, although Scott moved closer.

"Where? Do they miss you?" She prodded.

"God damn it C! Can't you see she's torn?!" Scott practically yelled at her. I couldn't speak, or stay so I ran hard out the doors with my face soaked wet.

I sat down on a cold bench and cried. I cried till I couldn't cry anymore, alone with the moon as my light. I heard someone sit next to me and pull me close.

"Ayla I am so sorry, she didn't mean to hurt you." He looked sad and there was concern everywhere, I could feel it. I sniffed and slowly wiped my tears away.

" I know she didn't, it's just hard for me to talk about these things. " I leaned against him, needing comfort and warmth.

We stayed like this for almost an hour until I broke it, letting the truth pour.

"My father and Mother were desperately in love with each other when they met. They saw me as a joy to have, and we laughed and had balls of fun," I started to smile but shook my head.

"We live in Hell though, we weren't allowed these luxuries. My mom couldn't stop the things she loved either. So she left and went to Heaven...to be my angel." I started to tear up again, in happiness. "My father felt dead when she left. but he used anger to hide it, that she wouldn't stay with him and married this awful step-mom Diane. My life to everyone was perfect, lucky. I don't see it, all I see is a angered father, step-mom witch demon spawn literally, and my mother gone and up in Heaven without me."

I stopped and saw to see he was watching me and listening to my every word.

" Ayla, I am so sorry." He looked at me softly.

"Lets go back now?" He asked quietly.

I nodded and felt much better now that someone knows something about me that was hidden.
