Chapter 17

MYA P.O.V

I never moved from my spot as I looked towards her piercing gaze. She smiled darkly as she watched me squirming for escape out of this haunting hole. The coal black eyes seeping into my own soul.

"Stop squirming idiot, you have been here for almost 3 days. Give up?" Her tone was mocking. I didn't care, I just needed to get out of her grasp. I needed her.

Ayla hurry please...

"No I will never give up! You psychotic bitch!"

She didn't even flinch to my reply, just laughed. Jake was there just watching, amused.

"Doesn't our doll have such a nice vocabulary?" She asked Jake with a smirk implanted on her face. He just nodded along.

*BOOM*

I shot my head towards the two large doors in the front of the room. Karoline and Jake lost interest in me and looked towards my gaze.

*BOOM*

I didn't know if was a knocking or if it was someone bombing the place, but Karoline didn't looked worried.

"Let them in."

I watched curiously as Jake went towards the door to open it and let in a guy with blinding white wings, holding a girl close in chains. His gold eyes roamed around the room and stopped to look at me. I couldn't hide the gasp when I saw him.

It was Chase, he was here to save me. He looked away and when I saw him move closer to Karoline and Jake I could see who he was holding onto closely.

Ayla......

"What brings you here, brother?" Jake said looking Chase in the eye. Chase just ignored his question and looked at Karoline with a hand over his heart.

He bowed slightly, but I paid more attention to Ayla, as I watched her whimpering with a gag in her mouth. Chase finally turned back to Jake.

"I thought about what you said, I want to be with you on this brother." He spoke emotionless as he stared at him. It broke my heart to see him doing this. The one I fell for, helping my kidnappers!

I knew I needed to get over him but something was nagging in me....telling me it wasn't really happening. Did I fall asleep and dream of the worst nightmare possible?

"What made you change your mind?" Karoline scoffed. I took another quick glance at Ayla, eyes wide in perified fear. I wanted to tell her everything will be okay, that I will save us both.

What a joke.

I watched Jake looking at his brother curiously, like something was wrong.

"The thought of letting this rare Angon roam free, to possibly kill us all sounded ridiculous after I thought about it for a while," he reply calmly. Karoline nodded, looking at Ayla like a hungry wolf. Ayla didn't even flinch, all her fear from before wasn't showing anymore.

"Gag off," she told Jake. He nodded and walked over taking off in one quick rip. Ayla coughed slightly looking at him with the deadliest stare I ever saw. He just looked at her amused then nodded to Chase who held her down to her knees.

I sucked in my breath not to scream to leave her alone. I closed my eyes tightly.

Leave her alone...

"Ah Ayla, we meet again. How are you sweetie?" Karoline mocked as she looked at Ayla with a smirk. Ayla didn't bother replying and just turned and looked at me with a long look, like she was trying to tell me something important.

Karoline saw her looking at me and walked over to where I was sitting hiding a knife behind her back. Ayla's eyes went wide and tried to get up but Chase held her.

"NO!" Ayla screamed at Karoline. She didn't care what she said and just picked me up and put the knife close to the neck.

"No? Well I am sorry but I see no need for Mya anymore and since I don't need her kind roaming this place I might as well dispose of her," Karoline laughed.

My kind?

"Leave her alone or I'll-"

"I'll what? You are held hostage dear Ayla," Karoline smiled at her. She turned back to me ready to end my life, I had a good one I guess.

Before she could however, she was pushed away from me hitting the wall with impact. I couldn't breathe as I looked at Ayla.

She was standing up with Chase by her side smiling widely and Jake hunkering over in pain, holding his head.

" I said to leave her alone."
