Chapter 16

I started packing my bags with all the stuff I had, determined to get my best friend back. The others refused to stay here, so I gave up and just let them tag along. Scott waited by the door for me, eyes glue on a book I couldn't see very well from this distance.

I walked over and took it out of his hands as a joking matter, but the word on the title stopped me cold.

Angon

"Why are you reading this?" I looked at him with curiosity. He just shrugged and retrieved it back.

"I thought maybe it would give us some clues to things, I mean you said your dad is a demon and mom a angel right?" He asked me.

I was slow to reply, "Yes..?"

"Well, maybe there's something in here to help us, and also why they want you."

I laughed, "All it's about is Angons, Scott."

He looked at me for a minute before finally looking at the book once again, "I know."

"Scott, we already had this conversation," I whispered. He just shrugged.

When that odd conversation was over I went back to packing, hearing Lily talking to Brandon in a hushed tone. He thinks that all that's wrong is Mya was kidnapped by humans, so she wants him to stay. I tried to ignore them, to give them some privacy, but I didn't need to listen to know Brandon will never back down.

"Need help?"

I turned around to see Luna hovering close with a friendly smile. I moved over and gestures her to come and help.

"Luna, why would they want me?" I was wondering this all day.

"I don't really know... maybe because your Lucifer's niece?"

I shook my head," Austin would've been the one for that since he is his son."

There was some sudden silence after I said that, so I changed the topic.

"Do you ever miss Hell?" She looked at me with a surprised expression, as it slowly faded.

"I don't know...I mean it's our home, it's where I met Austin," she subconsciously turned to see Austin talking to Scott with the book still in his hands, "Plus, if we never came here you would never have met your hot vampire boyfriend, " she winked. I laughed softly with a smile etched on my face.

" He couldn't be my boyfriend."

"Oh come on, your dad's a demon, Uncle is king of freaking Hell, mom's a angel, and you are definitely something entirely, and he makes you happy. I wouldn't be surprised if you had a cousin who was a werewolf!"

I playfully hit her shoulder, looking at Scott who was already looking at me with a smile, I smiled back. Then I remembered something.

"How did you know he was a vampire?"

She just smiled at me, "Mind reader, remember? Even though I can't read his, I can read yours."

I nodded slowly then turned to see in the corner of my eye Brandon leaving, slamming the door a little to hard. Lily just stood, emotionless.

"Okay, so we need to talk about how we are going to do this," I say to everyone bringing them together. Lily took the spot near Luna and Austin as I sat near Scott and Autumn. Luna spoke first.

" I think that since I can read minds, I shouldn't stay close and text you what they think."

Scott shook his head, "What if you can't read theirs like you can't with mine?"

Luna pondered that and just shrugged. I just smiled and took the stand.

"This is what I think. Lily needs to practice her gift, maybe she can make herself look like Chase or Jake, so that we have someone on their team."

Lily nodded, "I think I can do that."

"Luna and Austin will stay together, Luna will read their mind to tell me what they say, and Austin will burn anyone if they get too close to them."

Austin looked at Luna with protection and nodded, " I can do that."

"Scott can ask some of his family to help, Dark angels and vampires have a bad relationship and in case there is many guards they could help us."

Scott took out his phone, " I will ask now."

I nodded and finally looked at Autumn, " I think I know where they are and there is a big lake around the house. You will spy in there."

Autumn nodded. Apparently she knew who we all were all this time. She just loves to have a normal life. I looked at everyone silently, praying we will be able to get Mya back.

"What will you do?" Scott asked suspiciously.

" I will go with Lily and tell them I came for the swap."

*Mya*

Mya stood sitting, with her hands holding her knees, as she watched Karoline burn someone to their death. Apparently, she asked him to do something and he declined her demand. Mya didn't know who Karoline was anymore.

"Maybe next time you won't disobey your master," she said to the burning carcass.

Mya looked away as she heard him scream to his burning flesh. Karoline finally finished it by kicking him out the window, to the lake. She turned to Mya with a soft smile.

"So Little Sister, how was that show & tell?" Mya moved closer to the wall.

"How can you do that? How can you kill an innocent person?"

Karoline scoffed, "Innocent, that boy was an dark angel. If anything I just saved the world."

Mya just looked away. Karoline finally left, mumbling how stubborn Mya was. She sat there, wishing that Ayla would come soon, to save her from the sister she never knew, the one who kills innocent people.

The one that could kill her.

She saw she was alone in the room, the darkness engulfing her.

"Ayla, hurry," she whispered to the sky.
