"Don't make my baby say it again," Beyoncé warned, her eyes narrowed playfully, though Y/N knew there was a layer of seriousness beneath it. Sir, a mischievous grin plastered on his face, puffed out his chest, clearly enjoying the attention and the power struggle.

"Fine, Sir," Y/N conceded, rolling his eyes but a soft smile playing on his lips. She walked over picked him up with an exaggerated groan, and hoisted him onto his hip. He giggled, wrapping his small arms around her neck. "You're getting heavy, big man."

"Mommy feeds me good," he declared proudly.

"Indeed she does," Y/N muttered, following Beyoncé and the girls out of the penthouse. The elevator ride down was punctuated by Blue Ivy recounting her Roblox adventures and Rumi humming a tune she'd picked up from a new show. Y/N mostly listened, his mind already bracing for the inevitable encounter with Jay-Z. The thought alone made his stomach churn.

Outside, a sleek black SUV awaited them, tinted windows reflecting the bright Vegas sun. As they settled in, Beyoncé checked her phone, a look of calm professionalism settling over her features. The kids, however, were buzzing with uncontained excitement.

"Are we going to see Usher?" Blue asked, bouncing in her seat.

"Maybe, baby," Beyoncé replied, then turned to Y/N. "Remember, you have your own seat right next to ours. I made sure of it."

Y/N nodded, grateful for the gesture. "Thanks, Bey." The slip of the tongue was automatic, a habit from countless late-night conversations and shared chaos. Beyoncé simply smiled, a knowing glint in her eyes.

The drive to the stadium was a kaleidoscope of flashing billboards, throngs of excited fans, and the palpable hum of pre-game anticipation. When they finally arrived, the sheer scale of the event was overwhelming. Security was tight, and they were ushered through a labyrinth of private entrances, past screaming fans and paparazzi, straight into the VIP section.

The air inside was electric, a cacophony of cheering, music, and the low roar of the crowd. Y/N kept Sir close, navigating the bustling corridors. Just as Beyoncé was greeting someone, a tall figure detached himself from a group further down the aisle and started walking towards them.

Jay-Z.

Y/N's heart immediately began to pound, a familiar unease gripping him. He subtly shifted Sir to his other hip, his eyes darting between him and Beyoncé.

"Bey!" Jay-Z's voice, deep and resonant, cut through the din. He reached them, a slight smile on his face as he leaned in to kiss Beyoncé's cheek. "Good to see you. Kids, what up?" He knelt to high-five Blue and Rumi, then looked up at Sir. "And my man Sir, you ready for some football?"

Sir, usually clingy with Y/N, surprisingly wriggled down and ran to hug his father's leg. Jay-Z chuckled, picking him up. His gaze then slid over to Y/N, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes before his expression hardened, just for a split second.

"Y/N," he acknowledged, the word clipped, devoid of warmth.

"Mr. Carter," Y/N responded, his voice flat, his face carefully neutral. He resisted the urge to look away, meeting his gaze even though it made him highly annoyed. The unspoken tension between them was a thick, suffocating blanket.

"You really brought him?" he said, turning to Beyoncé, his voice low, but sharp enough for Y/N to hear.

Beyoncé's smile didn't falter, but her eyes narrowed slightly. "he's Sir's nanny, Jay. And my friend. he's supposed to be here." Her tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.

Jay-Z just grunted, then turned back to the kids, effectively dismissing Y/N from the conversation. Y/N took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing pulse. This was exactly what he had anticipated, and it still stung. It wasn't just the baby daddy dynamic; it was the sheer disdain he held for him, a coldness that always felt just on the edge of open hostility.
