Y/n
The "dinner on the water" was, predictably, not "just dinner." We pulled up to a secluded dock where a sleek, modest-sized yacht, bathed in soft, warm lights, bobbed gently on the calm evening waters. A uniformed crew member greeted us, a discreet smile on his face.
"Y/N," Beyoncé breathed, her eyes wide as she took in the scene. She turned to me, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. "This is 'nothing big' to you?"
I chuckled, ushering her onto the gangplank. "It's just... a change of scenery. You get tired of land."
The yacht's interior was plush, with a small, elegantly set dining table for two on the aft deck, overlooking the glittering cityscape lights reflecting on the water. A private chef was already preparing subtle aromas that filled the air.
"You really outdid yourself," she said, running a hand over the crisp white tablecloth. "What's the occasion for all this extra-ness?"
"Do I need an occasion to spoil my woman?" I countered, pulling out her chair for her.
She settled in, looking at me with those knowing eyes. "Not usually, but this feels... different."
As the yacht slowly pulled away from the dock, cruising gently along the coastline, we ate. The food was incredible, the music soft, and the conversation flowed easily, light and teasing, but with an underlying current of something deeper. Beyoncé talked about Blue and Titan, about her new music ideas, about the ridiculousness of Solange and Kelly dragging her around today. I listened, absorbing every word, occasionally interjecting with a quip or a question.
The stars began to pepper the inky sky, and a cool breeze kissed our skin. I took a deep breath, the moment feeling ripe. My heart was thumping a rhythm that rivaled any fight night.
"Bey," I started, reaching across the table to take her hand. Her fingers, warm and soft, intertwined with mine. "Giselle. Look, you know how I feel about you. It's... it's a lot. More than I ever expected to feel again. You turn my world upside down, inside out, and somehow, it all feels exactly right."
She squeezed my hand, her gaze locked on mine, an unreadable expression on her face.
"I know I'm not always eloquent," I continued, my voice a little rougher than I intended. "And I know I joke around, and sometimes I'm too much. But I'm serious about you. About us. And I want to make sure everyone, especially you, knows exactly where we stand. No more 'not my man' talks, no more confusion."
I took another breath, searching her eyes. "Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, will you officially be my girlfriend?"
A slow smile spread across her face, bright as the moon reflecting on the water. "Took you long enough," she teased, but her eyes were shining. "I thought you were going to make me force it out of you."
My shoulders relaxed, a wave of relief washing over me. "So, is that a yes?"
"Of course, it's a yes, you dummy," she laughed, leaning across the table, pulling me closer. "You are my man, Y/N. Always have been, even when you were just 'the fighter who got my attention.' And now, it's official."
She closed the distance between us, her lips finding mine in a kiss that tasted of sweet wine and the promise of forever. It was soft at first, then deepened, reflecting the quiet intensity of the moment. My hand cupped her cheek, her skin warm beneath my palm.
When we finally broke apart, breathless, she leaned her forehead against mine. "I didn't need a ring to be yours you know," she murmured, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Your grand gesture was enough"
I groaned, pulling back slightly. "Don't even start, woman. We just had a moment. And you won't even believe how this ring got here"
She giggled, a sound that made my chest ache in the best way. "damn I can't even say your not my man"
"This is our moment. And you bet your sweet ass you're my woman now."
She snuggled closer, her head resting on my shoulder as the yacht continued to glide through the night. The city lights twinkled in the distance, and the only sounds were the gentle lapping of the waves and the steady beat of my own, finally, content heart. No more "not my man." This was just the beginning. I could deal with acting offers and engagement rings later. For now, this was perfect
The morning light filtered through the luxurious curtains of Beyoncé's bedroom, painting stripes across the rumpled sheets. I stretched, groaning softly, feeling utterly content. Beside me, Beyoncé stirred, her hand reaching for my chest.
"Morning, official girlfriend," I whispered, pressing a kiss to her hair.
She hummed, a lazy smile on her face. "Morning, official man who spent a small fortune on a yacht just to ask me what we already knew."
I chuckled. "Hey, it was a moment. A grand moment."
"It was," she conceded, snuggling deeper. "And it was perfect."
My eyes caught sight of something glinting on her bedside table. A velvet box. My stomach did a little flip. Oh right, the rings. The seven rings. Solange had really committed.
"So," I began, trying to sound casual, "about those rings Solange bought... did you, uh, happen to find them?"
Beyoncé opened one eye, then slowly opened the other, a mischievous glint in them. She reached over, picking up the box. "These? Oh, I found them. All seven of them." She opened the box, revealing the dazzling array. "Did you really let her buy every single one I even looked at?"
"She had my card! And she said she was 'covering the rest of the year' for my spoiling efforts," I defended, though a grin was spreading on my face. "Kelly had some ideas about what to do with them. Engagement, wedding, promise, apology..."
"Apology ring leading to makeup sex, I heard," she finished, raising an eyebrow. "My sisters aren't exactly subtle."
Just then, her phone buzzed on the nightstand. She glanced at it, a laugh escaping her lips. "Speaking of... Solange. And Kelly. Group chat is already buzzing"
"Good," I said, pulling her closer. "Let them talk. As long as you know."
She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my lips. "I know." Her fingers traced the rings in the box. "So, which one do I wear today, official boyfriend?"
"Whichever one reminds you that you're stuck with me," I murmured, pulling her on top of me, the rings momentarily forgotten.
"Gladly," she whispered back, her eyes sparkling. "Gladly."
