Her eyes, which had held that profound sadness, narrowed fractionally. The weariness on her face warred with a sudden spark of something Yn couldn't quite decipher - was it disbelief? Anger? A flicker of dawning, terrible understanding?

She didn't immediately respond to his desperate torrent of words, the raw, unfiltered pain and accusation in his voice. Her gaze remained fixed on him, unblinking, as if she were dissecting every syllable, weighing it against the months of agonizing silence and the undeniable evidence of his betrayal.

"GHB?" she finally responded, her voice dangerously quiet, stripped of any warmth. It was a statement, not a question, yet it hung in the air, freighted with an unspoken challenge. "You're telling me this now? After three months of silence, after everything we've been through, after I've had to explain to our daughter why her daddy isn't here, you're finally concocting some story of being drugged?" Her voice gained a slight, brittle edge, a razor-sharp control that was far more terrifying than a scream. "You think that's going to make a difference, Yn? You think that absolves you?"

He flinched, but pushed forward, desperation making him reckless. "It's not a story, Bey! I didn't know what happened until later. I got tested, I went to a clinic... I was in shock, I was scared. Kelly and Solange... they didn't let me get a word in. They just dismissed everything. And then you vanished you made the silence. How was I supposed to tell you anything when you wouldn't even pick up a call? I've been trying to get through to you, bumblebee, every single day, just to explain! I couldn't just leave a voicemail saying 'oh, by the way, I was drugged when I cheated on you!'" He ran a hand through his hair, frantic. "I know it sounds like an excuse, but it's the truth. Please, just... think about it. Does that sound like me? I love you, I love our family, I'd never willingly... I was lost, Bey. I was lost and alone and then you were gone."

She sighed again, that long, weary exhalation, but this time, it was laced with a different kind of frustration. She looked away for a fleeting moment, rubbing her temples as if to ward off a headache, or perhaps to process the magnitude of what he was saying. Her eyes flickered back to him, still tired, but now with a deeply troubled expression.

"It changes nothing about the act, Yn," she said, her voice still quiet, but now imbued with a profound certainty. "That choice was made. Regardless of how you got there. But... it changes how we talk about it. It changes the conversation." She paused, her gaze drifting to Ava's sleeping form, a shadow of pain passing over her face. "For her sake... for Ava. She needs her father. Not just on a screen."

She drew a slow, deliberate breath, as if steeling herself. "Okay, Yn," she finally said, her voice firm, almost clinical. "were at the York estate. You can come."

A wave of dizzying relief washed over him, so potent it almost buckled his knees. "Thank you, Bey. Oh god, thank you. When... when can I come?"

"Tomorrow," she stated, her eyes locking onto his with an intensity that brooked no argument. "Early. And don't you dare tell a soul you're coming, or where you are. Not Kelly, not Solange, no one. This is between us. For Ava." Her voice dropped to a near whisper, laden with a chilling warning. "And if you show up here with a single hint of that woman, or a lie in your mouth, or cause Ava one ounce more pain... I swear to God, Yn, you will never see us again. Do you understand?"

He nodded, tears streaming freely now, a mix of relief and terror. "Yes. Yes, Bey. I understand. I promise. Thank you." He choked on the words. "I'm on the first flight."

She didn't respond directly to his gratitude. Her gaze was still hard, still assessing.
"Don't cause a scene." She paused, her lips pressing into a thin line. "Ava will be told you're coming. But she won't know about... this. About any of it. Just that Daddy's coming for a visit."
