I love how I'm now at equal parts for both this book and Into The Underverse and we've still got a ways to go for this one lmao

Over the course of the next few days, Nightmare and I figured out more of our control scheme.

He could control the tendrils, we knew that, but I wanted to see more of his control if I was in his form.

Whenever I chose to be in his form, I found that I had absolutely no control over the tendrils anymore, no matter how hard I focused to move them. I could feel them, but only Nightmare could move them around. Same with any extra summoned tendrils. They just...didn't react to me anymore.

I also tested out trying to be in my even-younger form. Dream had seen my normal form, so I figured going out would be dangerous like that. Being a very young child might give me some leeway even if I still somewhat resembled my older form. Also, summoning the tendrils seemed to be...a little hindered in my smaller form.

I could only summon two rather than the normal four, and only about half as many smaller tendrils, as well. It was still split-control for those tendrils, too. Weapon-summoning was also a little harder. I had to really focus to get the gloves, the notebook, or the frying pan to appear. Strangely, whatever weapon I could summon via determination didn't work. It was like it didn't WANT to be summoned...

I usually practiced working with Nightmare while the others were out causing a ruckus. I was...very self-conscious about practicing anything around others. Even so, that didn't stop them from startling me coming back when I was thoroughly focused on my training.

It was the third day there that I was practicing summoning weapons in my younger form when they startled me. I had a frying pan, although I was the tiniest bit strained on keeping it summoned. I had it clutched tightly in my hands, solely focused on it.

"Wha...Eclipse?"

I actually shrieked in surprise, whirling around with the frying pan and accidentally whacking Cross in the side. He yelped as he was thrown across the room from the force.

Error and Nightmare were frozen in surprise.

"Eep, Cross, I'm sorry!" I exclaimed, quickly letting the frying pan go away and running over to the dazed skeleton.

Cross blinked a bit. "...ow?"

"Why are you so...small?"

I felt heat rise to my cheeks. "U-Uhh..."

I had the tendrils on my back still. The two I could summon, anyway. They crept forward, lightly poking at Cross.

Is he okay?

"Umm...Cross, are you okay? You're not about to dust, right? How much did that hurt? My attack is insane, but I'm not sure how that translates to my summoned weapons..."

Cross shook his head some, looking at me. "I-I'm okay...kinda. That did a surprising amount of damage, although considering your stats, it wasn't nearly as much..."

"I'm pretty sure your full attack would dust Cross instantly." Error said lightly, coming up behind me.

My flushed cheeks instantly paled. "I-I'm so sorry, you...startled me pretty badly. I wasn't expecting you guys back so soon..."

"We've been gone nearly 4 hours, Eclipse." Nightmare said.

"Oh..." I trailed off. Had we really been at this for 4 hours?

Perhaps your form dictates your attack?

No...I was in my human form when the tendrils pierced Gladiator in the trial. It blipped him out of the arena immediately, and he mentioned that an attack like that would've blipped him out from the start had I began with that particular attack...
