This is a somewhat shorter chapter, being only about half as long as normal.  I hope you guys enjoy it nonetheless :)  (I didn't want to leave you guys with that trauma too long LMAO)  (Also, for those of you unaware, I have a discord!  I post teasers of GAUSC and we just chill and have a grand ol' time, if you'd like to join!  Link is on my message board :D )

It was strange to be in constant darkness.

I wasn't dead, I wasn't dreaming...it was just...dark.

It was hard to think, too.

What had happened...?

I know I had been running from Fresh...but everything was quite a blur.

I just sat...floated?...in the darkness for...a long time.

Until suddenly it was a different kind of dark.

More...familiar?

"Papa...it's been so long...why isn't she waking up??"

"Fresh was fused to her soul far too long.  She may never wake up..."

"No..."

"I'm sorry, Gradient.  I fear we've tried everything at this point."

"She can't be gone!  She can't be!"

"She hasn't...dusted.  She's...still breathing.  There's...still hope, Gradient..."

"I just want her back..."

I could feel something beating very shallowly in my chest, as if it was on the verge of giving out completely.

No...no, I won't let my soul give up!  I...I had to live.  Gradient would be so heartbroken if I died again...

...or would the multiverse reset again?

Either way, nothing good would come of my death.

Just breathe...focus...come on...

I could feel my soul speed up slightly as I took in a forceful breath, almost gasping.

There were muted emotions around me that I couldn't identify...almost like my ability was warming up to work again.

"Eclipse?!"

Gradient...

I struggled to open my eye and partially succeeded.  Everything ached pretty badly.

"G-Gradient..."  I rasped.

"Careful, Gradient.  She's still pretty badly hurt."

Someone gently grabbed my hand, coming into my line of sight.

It was indeed Gradient.

I reached out with my other hand, slowly blinking.  My eye hurt in a very strange way...

I could see Gradient had started crying, though from what little I could sense, it wasn't entirely negative.  I cupped his face in my other hand, smiling weakly.  "Y-You're...a sight for...a sore eye...literally..."

"I was so s-scared..."  Gradient said quietly through little hiccups of crying.  "I thought...we l-lost you..."

"I...don't...even know what...happened..."  I replied just as quietly.

"What can you recall?"

I glanced over, seeing Error nearby.  I was a bit startled to see him, but I answered as best I could.  "N-Not much...I...was in Undertale...Gradient showed up...portaled us...to you guys?  Everything else is...k-kinda blurry...until nothing but darkness..."
