The restless bubbling in Nahida's stomach only grew worse the closer they got to the ant's nest. For some reason, it felt like something shifted. Like a new arrival...?
Just what was it? What changed...?
"Stronger than a master, huh?" Gon's soft murmur made Nahida turn to him. Wanderer hummed along.
"Sing his praises where he can't hear. It'll get to his head."
Kite chuckle slightly. "I am not so cocky. But I do know my skills, and my En is something any Nen expert can achieve."
Wanderer turned to the kids, murmuring while holding Nahida close. "He says that, but it's all a lie. He's just humble."
"I am glad to know you have such confidence in my abilities, Wanderer."
The kids finally smiled, even if they were still thinking.
"Now that I think about it..." Killua silently showed Nahida his hand, she smiled and moved down. Making Wanderer drop her in Killua's arms.
"We always meet people when we need them most."
Killua made sure Nahida was comfortable over his arms and gazed at her eyes. "Everyone we've met, made us stronger."
Gon chuckled with a small nod. "Razor should count too."
Killua responded. "Yes." They hurried to follow Kite, Wanderer now walked beside him without a word.
"I'm sure Ging created Greed Island to train you. Then, he led you to Kite."
Nahida couldn't help but agree. To think that Alice and Gold even used it to their advantage. Training Nahida into Nen, giving her a way home, and still hoping she would stay to help Gon and Killua.
Still, Alice mentioned being close to Razor and possibly Ging. With Gold having connections to both Ging and Killua's family.
If what Illumi told Wanderer is true, and Silva Zoldyck knew Gold...
It still didn't make sense to Nahida why Gold would care for Killua, or even know what will happen in the future.
Another thing, is that she didn't offer any hints. Only the ending.
Nahida focused on knowing more about this war, but now it feels like there's an invisible wall stopping her and Ei from doing anything.
Why couldn't Ei find the nest? While Kite was getting closer to it...?
Now, her communication with her was cut off along with that abrupt shift. Just like the mark she left on that flying Chimera Ant. But the one on the tiger is still there.
Could there really be something keeping her from changing the outcome of this war?
If that's the case, why did Alice and Gold go through all this trouble?
Is it difficult to change the future? There must be something she can do, but what?
"Is your resolve firm?"
Nahida paused and lifted her gaze to Kite. He kept walking, most likely answering Killua.
"Like you said." Kite turned to face them, his hand reached back and grabbed the back of Wanderer's kimono with practiced ease. Like he had done it many times before.
Nahida smiled when Wanderer stopped but didn't turn back.
"I agree that Ging, and perhaps Alice, have certain expectations."
Nahida paused, Gon blinked and tilted his head at the name. Killua frowned and spoke up.
"Who's Alice?"
