Every contestant glanced at them before leaving the wooden hut. Gon and Nahida leaned on the stone wall while waiting for Killua. Each occupied by their own thoughts about this game.
Nahida had never played a video game. She wasn't sure if being transported inside a console was normal or not. But according to Killua, it wasn't normal.
He even showed her some games he had, the small screen of his 4ds? Transported her into another world, like any book often did. Just, not physically.
She wasn't sure how it could even happen either, the rings were indebted with Nen, and aura transported here yes... But how did someone manage to make it happen?
Kite said it was possible to infuse objects with your Nen, but then it brings the question of, 'who?' Who made this game and why?
As an experiment...?
Nahida glanced at Gon, who waited patiently for Killua.
"Gon." He turned to her. "You used save data, from your father. Yes?"
He nodded and gazed at his ring. "But there was nothing. Just a message from him." Gon smiled softly. "Telling me to enjoy the game he made."
So Ging made this game, along with that mysterious woman?
She must be from Teyvat, that much is certain. But the cards she gave her were the biggest mystery.
The little cat resembled Wanderer, and it was in the same picture style as the storybook his memories had formed into.
How did she know this? And, why was the name Rukkhadevata so familiar?
She was so occupied by her own thoughts, that she never noticed how observant Gon was being. They were being watched, and every hunter that arrived seemed to notice it as well.
He saw her thoughtful expression and nudged her arm. But before he could day anything, a familiar voice spoke.
"We're being watched."
Gon smiled brightly at seeing him.
"Killua!"
Nahida snapped out of her thoughts and got up as well. Killua hummed while looking around.
"I don't see any towns..."
Gon nodded. "Yeah, but everyone is heading in the same direction."
They were? Nahida didn't even notice it. To get so lost wasn't always a bad thing, but she's not in a safe space to do so.
She glanced at the kids who looked around for an answer, and found herself smiling.
No, maybe she did feel safe enough with them to stop paying attention.
Killua used his hands to point in two separate directions.
"They went either this way or that way. Right?"
Gon blinked. "Huh? How did you know?"
Killua tilted his head with a soft expression.
"That's where we're being watched from."
Nahida nodded and followed his hands. So they're looking for other players...
Killua looked at the horizon while pocketing his hands.
"But we don't know why, they're watching us."
Gon agreed and quietly waited for any plan Killua made. But his friend simply shrugged and started walking towards one of the directions he had pointed at. Gon and Nahida walked beside him.
