“This little thing!” Leorio gave Nahida his beetle phone. Letting her observe and move it around in curiosity. “It's one of the best phones on the market!”

She hummed while Leorio rambled on about its benefits. Different languages, better range for communication, more countries permitted its use…

It was different from the screens she had grown used to. Like her tablet or the phone Kurapika let her use, this one has the actual shape of a beetle. Its wings moved to reveal the buttons with numbers and a small screen to see who called.

It really is just for conversations then… Still, since Gon and Killua had one, Nahida figured it could be useful and gave Leorio enough money to buy two.

One for her, and the other for Wanderer. Neither of them had phones… At best, Nahida had a notebook page in her tablet with everyone's phone numbers written. Something Kuralika gave her on their way back from rescuing Killua.

Speaking of… Nahida looked at the kids. “Have either of you heard from Kurapika?”

Gon shook his head while Killua answered. “Beats me. I figure he's still not here.”

Perharps… Nahida repeated the number she had memorized in her head. She should try to call Kurapika once Leorio returns.

“So-” Killua leaned his arms on the table with a mischievous smirk. “-Remember our race in the hunter exam?”

Nahida looked through her memory, and finally nodded with a small smile. “Indeed. I believe Wanderer won.”

“Somehow.” Killua looked at Gon, who grinned while showing his pouch.

“Can we buy you a meal?”

Nahida giggled and looked at Wanderer. “What do you say?”

Wanderer hummed in thought. “A free meal. Why not? You chose the restaurant.”

“Then… Why not here?” Nahida gestured to the cafe where they sat outside. “I think Wanderer is in the perfect mood for a coffee.”

Killua smiled and stood from his chair. “Coffee should be cheap. At least you're not taking advantage of the young.”

Wanderer scoffed and stood, grabbing Nahida and placing her beside his waist.

“Welcome to the real world, kid.”

Killua imitated his scoff, talking in a deep and mocking tone. “I'm Wanderer, all I do is scoff and frown.”

Gon and Nahida laughed cheekily. Wanderer smiled softly and reached out. Killua resisted the urge to move away, and frowned when Wanderer pinched his cheek and dragged the skin towards him.

“I also dislike cheeky brats.”

Killua huffed and moved away. Running to pull Gon between them for protection. “I dislike old timers. So we're even.”

Wanderer's smile twitched in annoyance. “You're getting quite confident, eh?”

“Here-” Leorio paused beside Nahida and Wanderer. Narrowing his eyes between the kids and Hat Guy. “-Are the phones. What'd I miss?”

Gon smiled worriedly while Killua moved and dragged him along. Using Gon as a shield against Wanderer.

“Nothing much. Gon and I are gonna buy lunch for Nahida and Hat Guy.”

Leorio froze and narrowed his eyes. “Aren't you two supposed to be saving?”

Nahida quickly perked up at the tension between them. “For what?”
