(Y/N)'s POV:
The walk back to the You Show Duel School was mentally distracting, to say the least. All three of the kids were happy, and I was happy that they were happy, but I couldn't get my earlier encounter out of my mind. My first meeting with one of "the" most skilled, intimidating, and best duelists I've ever seen; Shun Kurosaki. My hand that was holding the box of new cards he reclaimed from that thief was still shaking.
After settling into my new life in this world, I knew that this would happen eventually. But there were certain things that have played out differently than I had anticipated. The first thing I noticed is that Yuya has been acting more calm lately. Ever since that night he cried into my shoulder, he had been laughing his problems away less and less. He'd joke about it, sure, but he's been coming to me at what I have come to consider my home with them whenever he needed comfort and compassion for being ridiculed and made fun of. Yuya, for better moreso than worse, has become the brother I've always wanted. And it has been something I've truly come to appreciate in my life.
Secondly was my encounter with Yuto Tsigarii. I had the feeling since I first saw him in that warehouse that he was going to duel me. But my duel with him took a few turns that I was not expecting in the slightest. His unexpected summoning of Black Ray Lancer definitely threw me for a loop. My reaction alone gave away that fact that I was expecting something else to be summoned to him. Then there were his words. The words he spoke that brought out the collective rage of the women that used to be (Y/N) Blackwood and Carly Carmine. I never felt that angry before, and it was that anger that paved the road that led to the creation of the first Dark Xyz monster. Not taking into account what I had to do to Yuzu afterwards to cover my own ass.
But then there was him... and I don't know how to fucking feel about it! When I was mentally preparing myself for meeting "the" Shun Kurosaki, it was for when he would seek me out and straight up challenge me to a duel. Not him pulling some lone hero shit and show me kindness! I wanted to scream in response to the complete confusion racking my brain, but I resigned to just a loud sigh whilst pinching the bridge of my nose. That was all yesterday.
Right now, I'm getting things ready for my class. I was intentionally holding off on this lesson until after my encounter with Yuto. That way the timeline would generally remain the same as I saw it in the show. Besides, it would work out in people's favor that I teach them the basics of Extra Deck summoning. It'll get them more interested in learning sooner, especially Yuya.
(Y/N): 'He needs to learn as much as he can as soon as possible before the Arc League Championship. He needs to rely less on unpredictable Action cards.'
My hand opened the lid for the box with all the cards I acquired for this lesson. When I set the lid down, my eyes laid on the card that I chosen specifically for Yuya. Part of me hoped that he really pays attention during this class. I am playing a gamble by introducing these new cards right as those duelists from the Leo Institute of Dueling will come attack. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard the door to the classroom. Peaking from the doorway was Yuzu still wearing a bandage on her head.
Yuzu: "Hey there, (Y/N)..."
(Y/N): "Zuzu? Shouldn't you be at school?"
Yuzu: "I would be, but Dad kept me out today to recuperate after your duel with that guy."
(Y/N): "Well, I'm glad to see you're doing better."
Yuzu: "Could I actually talk to you about something?"
(Y/N): "Sure. Come in."
