Monday
/Alexis' POV/
Till the last hour before lunch I had approximately glanced 564.869 times at my wrist watch and counted the minutes down. Not just for the end of school today, but also I had Math with Jesse and some of his friends so maybe we'd meet then. But how should I react? Go up to him? Hug him? Kiss him? Maybe just wait for his reaction though. And then I looked for the 564.870th time at my watch.
I was early for Math and my teacher would probably take another few minutes to come so I stood outside the room and looked the hall up and down once in a while. Through the streams of students everywhere it was hard to look out for one face, but between a couple of colorful dressed freshman I saw Jesse making his way towards the room. Dressed in a black button down shirt and dark skinny jeans and an upset expression he strutted down through the hall.
I couldn't bring myself to more than glancing over to him and when we made eye contact he was still a few feet away and he went with his tongue over his lips briefly and then smiled, which was enough to smile childish and look at the floor again.
As Jesse finally arrived in front of me and of course he knew what to do and hugfeed me briefly. His hands went around my back and this was the actual highlight of my day and somehow he could push all of my thoughts aside just with his presence.
"You looked kinda upset... Is everything alright?" I frowned but he waved it aside.
"It's whatever. Not worth your time." He said but sounded anxious. I wanted to help him, but in this moment Mr. Dannie came and opened the door. In Math I felt way more secure than in any other class that I had today and tried to glance over to the seats behind me once in a while.
In French I looked a hundred more times at the clock than usually and was relieved when the bell finally rang and I could get out of the classroom. The halls were just beginning to fill and I made fast steps towards one of the exits and then the few stairs down. It was actually a nice day today. I already smiled as I pictured Jesse playing basketball.
The bell had maybe rung two minutes ago when I arrived at one corner of the basketball court. There were still some boys playing around with a ball, Jesse stood out because of his colorful arms, and I was about to go closer to them when I saw that next to the court was a bunch of other girls and boys already. Everybody was cheering for the boys. I recognized some of them from my classes. Most of the girls were from Jesse's year though. All of them looked like typical Californian girls with blonde hair and hot pants. Okay... That was not really what I had expected but anyways I didn't want to let Jesse down since he invited me to come to watch him but while sneaking towards the group of people he made a three pointer, I guess, and all of the kids clapped even more. Grinning he jogged over to them and high-fived each of the girls with and even from distance I could see that some of them wanted a bit more than high-fiving him. I don't know why but it made me feel out of place and uncomfortable, so I turned away. Decided to get home. To be alone again. It seemed like there wasn't anything between us. Okay. And not that I didn't wanted him to have friends but shit, yesterday it sounded a lot more like he'd invite just me to watch. It was okay, who would want to hang out with me like more than three times in one week anyway?
Didn't saw you at the court today... :( (20:34 PM)
Is everything alright? (20:47 PM)
Just wasn't feeling well. Sorry (21:02 PM)
