Chapter Nineteen: Detention

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were sat in the detention room, the silence defeaning our ears. Miss Jean had told us we can't sit with our friends, and it immediately disappointed Aeanne and I. She ended up sitting with Harry and Jaimie was sitting with Niall. Amber was sitting with Josh and Alizia was all by herself at the back. Zayn and I were sat together near Miss Jean's table in the front.
"So," Miss Jean cleared her throat from her desk, "what happened here? Why are you all in detention?"
"From what I've heard, Zayn ditched Arvina, so she gave him the silent treatment all day," Jaimie spoke voluntarily, "when they made up, everyone thought it was cute and Alizia came out of nowhere saying Zayn is her man and Aeanne, being the brave little girl she is, stood up for Arvina and was all like 'if he was your man, he wouldn't be all over Arvina'." She took a deep breathe before continuing with her story, "so Alizia and Aeanne got into a fight and Harry, Niall, and I got detention because of our commentary and Aeanne punched Josh for whatever reason and he cursed and I guess Principal Moore heard it and Arvina got detention for her shirt, so yeah."
 "So all of this happened because Mister Malik ditched his date?" Miss Jean arched her eyebrow.
"Wow, I never thought of it like that." Jaimie pursed her lips in thought, looking at the ceiling.
"Wait!" Zayn protested in his defense, "it was Aeanne and Alizia's decision to fight though, I didn't tell them to."
"And they wouldn't fight if Alizia didn't come out of nowhere and call Arvina a slut." Harry spoke from the back, trying to defend his mate.
"But," Jaimie was speaking now, "Alizia wouldn't have come with her stupid commentary if Arvina and Zayn didn't argue."
"And Arvina and Zayn wouldn't argue if Arvina didn't give him the silent treatment." Niall spoke, mostly directed to me, probably in Zayn's defense.
"Would Arvina have to give Zayn the silent treatment if he didn't ditch her?" Aeanne smirked at Niall, but he couldn't find a good answer. "Exactly."
"Sorry, mate, it all turned back to you." Niall shrugged.
"Yeah, can't help you with that." Harry added.
"Alright, case closed." Miss Jean interrupted our ongoing argument. "It's all Mister Malik's fault."
"Wait, but-!" Zayn protested.
"If you didn't ditch her, none of this would've happened." She arched her eyebrow, folding her arms above her chest.
Zayn just looked at her disbelievingly, mouth opened into an 'o' shape and hands up in defeat. I couldn't help but let out a small giggle, he looked adorable like that.
All eyes were fixed on Zayn now, blaming him as to why we're currently in detention, but Zayn just shrugged awkwardly before burying his head in his arms.
"Mister Malik," Miss Jean cleared her throat, "head off the table, please."
"Ugh." He rolled his eyes before sitting back up.
"Calm your attitude." The attendance lady snorted.
"Whatever." He mumbled underneath his breath.
"You have no right to feel like shit," I whispered, rolling my eyes, "you put us here."
"What?!" He frowned. "All I did was-"
"Ditch Arvina." Niall rolled his eyes sassily, arms folded across his chest and body slouching back on the chair.
