Chapter Twenty-Eight: Confrontation

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Call me when you get home." Zayn said, pulling my hoodie over my head as he walks me to where I parked my car.
"Yeah." I nodded, fumbling with Nash's keys.
Nash had called me in the middle of watching the last episode of the first season of Doctor Who when Nash called me to go home. He said he was going to meet up with Jade to discuss something with her and he needed me home because he needed his car.
Zayn held my hands and opened his gates, leading both of us outside. He helped me get inside the car before buckling me and pecking my forehead. He smiled at me one more time before closing the door and watching me drive away, jogging back inside his house when I was gone.
My phone started vibrating and I just stared at it hopelessly, until I reached the redlight and I could finally call the person back.
"Hey, Jai-"
"Why were you with Curly two days ago?" Jaimie cut me off. "I saw you in his car."
"Woah." I laughed. "He was convincing me to try to talk to Zayn."
"No wonder it looked like you guys were arguing." She snickered. "That curly bastard. Well, was he convincing?"
"Zayn and I are okay, right?" I rolled my eyes.
"You weren't in school today." She said.
"I ditched."
"So did Zayn."
"We weren't together." I lied.
"Uh-huh." I could literally see her smirk. "Tell that to the car right behind you coming from Vine Avenue."
I frowned, slowly looking at my rear view mirror until I saw a familiar black Mazda containing a redhead in a leather jacket. Jaimie stuck her tongue out at me and I just laughed, shaking my head.
"Fine. You caught me." I rolled my eyes. "What were you doing in Vine Avenue?"
"I had to drop something off at Leanne's, she's staying over her dad's tomorrow and today and he lives in Vine, so yeah."
"Oh, I see."
"Right.In.Front.Of.Zayn." When I turned to look at the rearview, she was smirking again.
"Wait, so you saw me?" I looked at her with widened eyes.
"When Zayn was walking you to your car," she said, "yeah."
The light turned green and we started driving again, both headed towards Hedge Road. A couple of adults honked at us for driving while talking on the phone, but we just laughed it off.
"Gonna hang up now." I said. "Don't wanna piss off the old ones now."
"Yeah, same." She laughed. "Talk to you later."
"T-T-Y-L." I mocked the famous skanks wink when they're saying their goodbyes to each other, making Jaimie laugh before she hanged up.
We eventually parted ways when she turned to Vista Lanes, where both her and Liam live, and I continued my drive home. When I made a turn to my street, I saw Jade and Nash having a deep conversation on our driveway. Seems like Jade couldn't wait to confront him about whatever she wanted to talk about. I frowned at them before parking, getting off the car and tossing Nash his keys.
"Hey." He smiled weakly at me, fetching the keys.
"Hi." I smiled at him and Jade.
"I haven't seen you in a long time!" Jade tried to be happy.
