Chapter Twenty-Three: The Twentieth Question
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So can I get an answer?" He laughed awkwardly, pushing himself up and helping me get up along the way.
"Oh, yeah." I smirked teasingly, tilting my head to the side. "I think that you and Liam would make such a cute couple. You know, he likes watching cute Disney movies like Toy Story and such. You should ask him out!"
"Arvina." He frowned, "I'm serious about being serious."
"I was kidding!" I laughed.
"Would you let me though?" He bit his lip, "be that boy."
"I don't think it's my business if you want to be with Liam or not, Zayn." I joked again.
"Stop playing." He rolled his eyes, puffing a heavy breath. "I really like you, Arvina. And I want us to do those cute, couple stuff."
"Like what Aeanne and Josh did?" I asked.
"Yeah." He nodded. "I guess?"
"Okay, go ask Josh out then." I stuck my tongue out at him.
"You're such a moment ruiner." He pouted.
"You're so cute." I laughed, lightly pinching his cheeks.
"Like you." He grinned.
He was about to say something else, but his phone started ringing. He dug in his pocket to get his phone and answer whoever was calling him. He looked at me and I nodded at him, letting him know that it was alright if he took the call. He turned around and walked about five feet away from me, pressing his phone against his ears. After about fifteen minutes or so, he came back with a frustrated look on his face.
"Everything okay?" I frowned.
"Yeah," he smiled assuringly at me, "should I take you home now?"
"Sure." I smiled back.
We made our way out of the park hand-in-hand and headed back to the coffee shop, where he parked his car. Like always, he helped me get inside and buckled me before jogging to his side and buckling himself. Then, we drove off.
As usual, the lights in my street were barely working and the only light that illuminated the road in front of us were the lights that were shining from the stars and his headlights. He parked in my driveway and unbuckled himself, helping me get out of his car.
I thanked him quietly and gave him a small hug before walking over to my doorstep. Before he could walk away, I refrained myself from turning the doorknob and facing him again.
"Zayn!" I called out and he swiftly turned around to face me.
"Yeah?" He gave me that damn adorable smile that always melted my heart.
"I really like you too." I grinned and before he could say anything, I turned my doorknob and went in my house.
I caught him smile to himself as he walks over to his car before I made my way into my room. When I got there, I quickly changed into my pyjamas and put my hair in a high bun before plopping down on my bed and falling asleep.
---
"Arvina," my cousin shook me in an attempt to wake me up, like she didn't learn her lesson from before, "wake up."
"Go away." I mumbled sleepily. "Why did you even stay here? You and Marissa should've left with Mom and Dad."
"We like bothering you." I sensed her smirking from the tone of her voice.
