Chapter Twenty: Mind Games
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It has been a week since almost everyone that I know got detention, and it's also been warm and sunny in this sunshine-less city, and surprisingly, it all brought us together. Kind of.
Josh and Aeanne has been talking again and even though they're just friends (for now, maybe?), they're back to their normal self and it made me happy. Jaimie and Maz has been hanging out a lot and rumors has it that a certain Marius Listhrop likes a certain Jaimie Lynn Truce - yes, I also learned in detention that Jaimie's middle name is Lynn. Sadly, it's obvious that Jaimie has the biggest crush on JC.
The third day of detention, Amber and Niall broke up. Yes, Amber Locks and Niall Horan, the two inseparable whores. Who would've thought they'd ever get tired of each others beds? Not me, that's for sure. I suppose it isn't really a good thing for them, but I'm just glad that Alizia and Amber are starting to learn that not everything is going to be theirs forever, that they just can't simply wrap their fingers around everyone.
Rosewood High gossips also said that Harry is single, but I saw them swallowing each other's tongue just yesterday, so I'm not really sure about that.
Me and Zayn? I don't even wanna talk about it.
"Arvina, do I really have to go?" Aeanne pouted before sipping on her Starbucks drink, snapping me out of my memory lane.
"Yes!" I groaned, sick and tired of telling her that she has to go with me. "I don't wanna be alone."
"Can't Jaimie-"
"Jaimie's going to a concert, Aeanne." I rolled my eyes.
"Oh." She sighed. "Well, okay, then."
"It's gonna be fun!" I grinned. "Josh is performing, remember?"
"Yeah, but-"
"No, buts! You're going whether you like it or not." I demanded.
"Ugh," she grunted, "fine."
We left Starbucks and walked back to her house, which was literally just two minutes away from the store. See? That's what I like about Aeanne's neighborhood; it's close to everything. Not like where I live, I constantly have to use Nash's car to go here and there.
When we got back to her house, she went straight to her bathroom to go take a shower and I stayed downstairs with Andy. He was sitting on their breakfast counter, laptop right in front of his face. He was currently Skyping his girlfriend, but she went to the bathroom or something, so he's just waiting. No one have really met his girlfriend before, not even Aeanne, his own sister. Sometimes we joke about him not really having a girlfriend, but then again, he's always Skyping with some girl.
"Andy, I'm bored." I whined, plopping down on the couch.
"Go do something, then." He suggested, turning his stool to face me.
"Like what?" I frowned.
"I dunno." He shrugged. "Are you guys going to the festival?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "I'm making Aeanne go."
"Why?" He frowned.
"What do you mean why?" I asked, emotionless.
"You guys never go," he shrugged again, "it's new to me."
"Josh is performing." I explained, and he just smiled, finally catching on.
Aeanne finally came downstairs, wearing a collared, purple dipdyed front shirt and some cut-off denim shorts, mixed with a pair of purplish sneakers and the silver bird necklace that her father had given her. Her hair had loose curls and she only had a tiny bit of make-up on.
