AKARI POV
The annual festival for Eden College was right around the corner. It was for the older kids to run a fun little carnival around the school for the younger children to hang around and play in. The older students would need to compete for the best, needing to make sure that the younger students- who will then vote the next day- will determine which class has the best festival game. The top class of this contest will each get a star, whereas the least voted class will get a toniturus bolt.
It really didn't help with the fact that exams were right around the corner.
"I'm genuinely feeling so overstimulated right now," Emily groaned, as she stretched her back and yawned as she got off the school bus with me. I chuckled, as I listened to her complain as to how exhausted she must feel right now.
"I can imagine. I mean, they really must hate us students," I responded, "I mean creating a festival game AND needing to study for exams? Do they hate us, or do they despise us?"
"Is there an option for all of the above," Emily replied as we walked into the school grounds. The news of the festival spread like rapid fire across the whole school. People were cheering, saying they were going to win- while others were groaning in frustration knowing that exams were creeping up right around this time as well.
"Seems like you guys are excited," Katashi walked up, looking at the two of us as we examined our gloomy faces. He just smiled cheekily, "Hey, life's too short to be frowning all the time."
The three of us continued to talk about the upcoming exams, and the winter break that was coming up. Emily was explaining how she was getting ready to go back to the countryside to help her parents out with the store that they have, whereas Katashi was complaining how he would rather just hang around someone else's house since his dad was probably off doing 'work.'
We wandered around the school as we ran into George and Demetrius. Emily walked up to George, and they hugged. Everyone smirked at the action, as she tried to keep in a laugh.
"Are we going to be going over the game together today?" Emily asked everyone, "I seriously need this Stella."
"Agreed," Ryan walked in, barging in on the conversation as he put his arm around Katashi and I's shoulder, "And what I definitely can NOT get is a Bolt."
Everyone agreed, as we started to talk about different carnival games that we could do. Something that could interest the little kids and make it fun. Nothing was coming up, as we all just sighed in defeat.
"Where is Hakari by the way?" George asked Emily, as she shrugged before crossing out another idea that she had on her brainstorming list for the carnival.
"She said that she's super sick and she won't be coming to school for the next week or so," she responded with a sad sigh.
"Oh no, is she okay?" Ryan asked, before Emily nodded, "We should totally go over to her house to make sure that she is okay."
"Yeah agreed, plus Hakari is usually the smartest when it comes to these types of things. She's super creative, she paints, sketches, colours, plays like a bunch of instruments, and she can dance," Emily began to ramble on about Hakari, I mean- they have been friends since middle school so they do know each other pretty well.
"Should we bother her while she's sick though? I think it's better for us if she rests," Katashi remarked, as we nodded at that fact.
"Nah, she already feels bummed out that she can't be here right now. I think she would be more happy if we're able to help out," Emily retorted back, as the bell rang for class.
