Chapter 12- when home greets you with a hug

Zac's POV

My arm was bleeding badly but I couldnt stop now, I was so close. I realised that I was just on the boundaries of the rouge area and would soon be in the area of my pack.

I was really nevous about what the alpha needed me for, I dont mean much in this pack. I'm soon to be beta but thats not much...

I barked loud so I could try and get some of my packs guards attentions but got nothing in reply. I lifted my head up in hope as I heard barks getting closer, I got worried when I realised they were coming from behind me. The rouges must of picked up my scent. I could have easily out run any rouge within seconds but at the state I was in that was truly impossible.

'Come on Zac you can do this, you need to do this! Just get across into the pack boarders then howl, after at you can rest until they find you.' Percy tried to encourage. I hobbled forward slowly, trying to get in a rhythm to go faster. The barks got louder and I started to here heavy thuds on the Forrest floor. I pushed myself more until I was whimpering with every step. I felt the boundary straight ahead, it was about ten metres away. A sudden burst of energy hit me and I found myself jumping on three legs towards the barrier.

I got over and fell directly to the ground feeling the safety of being back on home ground. I pulled my head back from where it laid on my paws and howled painfully. Within in seconds I felt the presence of another person. I so hoped it wasn't the rouges. A familiar scent filled the air and I looked around for the source. A magnificent beige wolf was in front of me. She came closer and her white paws stopped at mine. She lied down and placed her head on her paws in the same position as me. Percy howled in delight as she looked into my eyes, I looked away from her bright grey ones knowing something bad would happen if I looked back.

'Mate.' Percy growled protectively.

Genevieve POV

I felt something pulling me out the front door and towards the packs boundary. I stood and walked out of the room leaving the two boys speechless. I soon found myself running in wolf form towards barking. The bark was urgent and loud, my ears flattened themselves to me head as the feeling behind the bark reached me.

I ran faster knowing I had to get to this poor person soon. Their scent hit me before I saw them, the smell of nature and bubblegum. I halted and I came to face him.

His eyes looking away from mine on purpose.

'Smart boy, listening to his instincts.' Katherine complimented

His dark wolf soon shifted to his human form and I mentally gasped in awe of him. He had sandy blond hair and a slight tan. His ocean blue eyes fitted perfectly with his face. He watched me, silently asking me to shift. I blinked slowly before I followed what he asked and changed to my human form.

We were both naked; neither of us cared, we were finally together now.

Zac POV

I whimpered out loud to her and licked my sore front paw, it was covered in blood turning my usual white paw into a red one.

I sat up and shifted back into my human form, I didn't care whether I was naked or not she was my mate she was going to see it anyway. I watched her and hoped she would follow what I did. She did.

Her amazing wolf disappeared and was replaced by an even more beautiful girl with slightly wavy hair, freckles, bright grey eyes and light red lips. Her skin was quite pale but had this strange beauty about it, just like her eyes; they appeared filled of every emotion you could think of but then they were also filled with no emotion.

We just sat there staring at each other, mesmerised by each other.

"I-I'm Zac." I managed to speak out.

"I'm Genevieve." She replied her voice making me forget all my worries.

"Um... You must be Raphael's friend, you ran off before I got a chance to meet you after me and Raphael had a fight practice." I said trying to keep her talking.

"Oh yeah, um, sorry about that I-I'm new to all this and I was slightly scared." She smiled a lovely smile. Percy wasn't very happy that we scared our mate but understood she didn't know.

'There's something about her wolf which isn't like another wolf I've experienced...' Percy talked to himself.

"So Evie, wanna head back, apparently the alpha wants to see me." I tried to think of a nickname for her. I think she liked it because she blushed when I said it.

Her delicate head nodded as she shifted back into her wolf.

'Lets go.' I heard her voice echo through my head. I stood up and shifted back into my tired wolf.

My paw was already healing and had stopped bleeding. I found it amazing how being so close to my mate made my healing quicken as well as my heart rate.

I watched her tail sway side to side as we walked back to the pack house. I could tell she hadn't been here for very long because every now and then she would stick her nose in the air and sniff. I smiled inside at her intelligent moves.

'So how was your long run here, Zac?' She asked mentally.

'It was long, tiring but definitely worth it considering I found you.' I replied. I felt her giggle in her head and I laughed. I thought over my run and my uncle came back to my mind, I wasn't going to tell her about him, she would get sympathetic towards me, I don't need sympathy.

I saw the pack house up ahead and I began to get excited. I was finally home!

Genevieve looked back at me and nodded her head as she walked up to the front door. I glanced at her as she swung her tail against the door in three big thumps. Her 'knocking' was greeted by two men who I knew were Henry and Raphael.

I barked in delight at the sight of my best friend and race over to him to lick his face.

I walked into the house and went straight to the office, the two men followed me while Genevieve went and changed.

I shifted and chucked a pair of pants I found on. Henry and Raph took their seats and I soon joined them.

"It's nice to be back."I calmly stated as they both looked at me with smiles on their faces.

"Zac we have to explain something to you about Genevieve." Henry began to explain.
