Chapter 24- The book

I sprinted to the library where I first expected the book to be and I got in there to find Zac there at the desk flipping through the blue book.

"Have you found anything?" I asked walking around to stand behind him.

"No, and Raph keep in mind we're looking through a story book. It's not exactly an Encyclopaedia where you just have to search for what to do if your mate is an mythological wolf from a wolven folktale and has just re-met her mother which kicked her out when she was young and then tried to kill her using mental powers and turned into the typical horror story werewolf, and is now locked some where down in the basement we were never allowed in as kids..." Zac added in sarcastically.

"True, very true. Alright quick being a smarty and help me find this story!" I replied reaching forward and flipping to the next page.

After a few useless stories there was a knock at the door.

Zac and I both looked up at the knocker and saw it was Joseph.

"Oh Joseph, ahh, what can I do for you?" I asked standing up straight making my back crack multiple times.

"Um, well I dont know whether this will help me but my wife has disappeared..." That was all it took for Zac to launch across the desk and shift.

'Find her, I'll go stay with Genevieve.' Zac Linked.

I nodded my head in reply.

"Come on." I said while jogging passed Joseph and out of the room to search for Paige.

We got into the front lounge room then Sophia got up off the couch.

"Raph, what's going on?" She asked while I took her hand and walked through the rest of the room.

"Genevieve's mum's loose in the house, and keep in mind she's not someone who should be lurking free through an Alpha's house." I explained while we kept walking.

We got about half way down the main hall when I heard something.

'Alpha! Alpha, we have an intruder on the northern boundary.' It was one of the

pack members.

'Who is it? Can they be recognised as any authority figures from one of the other packs or are they a rouge? Trust your senses.' I replied with some help from my wolf's alpha blood.

'Raphael? Where's your father?' Asked the boundary guard.

'He's, he's dead.' I replied sadly.

'Oh, I'm so sorry Raph, he was a good man. And the scent of the wolf is very hard to read, we can't figure out whether his rouge or not.' He sounded a bit sad as the news hit him but still very formal.

'Thanks and keep trying.' I finished then went back to the search.

I started to walk down the hall again but stopped, it was getting dark and the sun was about to set for the night, I could feel it.

"You two keep looking I have something I have to do." I explained and they both gave a curt nod before walking off.

'Zac how's Genevieve? Has she turned back to normal yet?' I sent a mind message to him.

'Almost but she's a little on edge, I'm thinking about going back down the other door to the other levels in the house and having a quick sniff around. Have you two found the crazy witch yet?' He sent back.

'No but we found Soph and she's agreed to help. I've sent those two off to keep looking while I deal with some other matters... Some of the boundary guards on the north side picked up some trespassers.' I said while walking briskly back to the office.
