The view was great from the roof of the hospital. The whole battle laid out in front of me, I had been awaiting this day. I had watched this pack from within for quite a while, more happens in this small area then it ever has elsewhere in the world. My sister knows more of this area's history then I do, though I doubt she'd know much right now.

The rain was still pounding down on the roof, it seemed like a supernatural storm rather than a regular one, but they wouldn't know that. If they only knew what was coming, the next chapter of their lives... Depending on their actions in the next few minutes, hours, days, it's all in their hands.

But like most of my sister's loose ends, I might have to swoop in and save this one before it crumbles apart...

Genevieve POV

It was getting close to the 3am mark, as we kept fighting. My breath kept catching in my throat.

Being covered in warm blood surprisingly made you feel really cold, however every new drop that touched my skin warmed my whole body creepily.

'This storm isn't helping the cold factor either, hun' Katherine added.

'That's true, it's been going for the entire night...' I replied as I snapped the neck of another rouge.

'I'm also surprised at how many rouges are left... I know there were a large number of them but this big?'

Katherine didn't reply instead she moved to the back of my consciousness to let me fight alone again. The boys had moved away from me and I could faintly see some of our pack's wolves in the blackness but even with my moonstone eyes this storm seemed to cloud everything.

As I stood there looking for the next rouge I suddenly felt a horrible pain take hold of my whole body. I wasn't bleeding but I felt like I was losing so much blood, like the side of me been ripped open.

Tears flooded my cheeks and blurred by vision as a rouge ran towards me teeth dripping with blood.

'Zac!' I screamed, while looking at my side, I kept trying to see blood but there was none.

I stared deep into the eyes of the rouge coming for me but no matter how much I tried to lock our gazes my moonstone powers wouldn't work. I couldn't see into his soul, I couldn't stop him from running. I was too scared.

'I can't do it. I can't do it! I cant! I can't! I can't!' I screamed over and over again in my head as the rouge ran towards me.

'Genevieve he's not after you...' Katherine whispered.

I watched the rouge run to me but then I saw it. He wasn't looking at me, he was looking at Zac.

I followed his gaze and saw a crumpled Zac on the ground dark velvet blood pooling underneath him. He kept trying to get up but he's body didn't have the strength.

'Zac...' I sobbed trying to run over to protect him from the attack coming his way. I put all my strength into trying to dive in front of my mate.

That's when I really felt it...

The wolf headbutted me right in the chest. I latched out my claws and swiped his throat as I tried to breathe in.

I thought I was just severely winded but then I put my hand on my stomach.

My ribs collapsed under the pressure. I could feel them moving towards the baby.

I screamed as the pain erupted through my stomach as I felt each and every millimetre that edged its way into my unborn child. As it went in deeper all the pain only got worse.

I was paralysed, all I could do was scream as I laid there next to my dying mate, losing my only child. My eyes were wide open but all I could see was black as I continued to scream.

Zac POV

My eyes could barely stay open with how painful and exhausting my injuries were. Everything had a slight blur to it but I could just make out the outlines of objects and the fighting people around me. I could see Genevieve fighting like the queen she is.

I grimace as I struggle to get myself to my knees. There's a low growl coming from in front of me as I looked up a large matted grey wolf flew towards me. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, but the impact never came. I didn't think I'd lose feeling from loss of blood that fast.

Soon my pain tripled as I peeked open my eyes to see Evie lying in front of me. I clenched my eyes shut again as all of her pain flowed into me. I tried to open my eyes again I had to protect her and our child.

I clenched my teeth together and push with all my might to try and sit up. I managed to get high enough to see over my mates quivering body.

I was greeted with three rouges stalking towards us preparing for the final attack.

I knew I was going to go one day but I didn't want to go out like this...

Tears began to fall from my eyes as I used the last of my strength to wrap my body around Genevieve's. If I could protect her at least then I know my death would be worth it. Before I closed my eyes I took on final glance up at my killers. They dived for us...

I was about to embrace the blackness as an angel appeared out of nowhere to protect me. She had a glow around her and bright purple curled hair, she was slightly bigger than most werewolf girls plus I thought I could see the brief outline of some kind of wings. But just as she began to come into focus my energy ran out and all I saw was black.
