Chapter 22- Like my mother used to

Raphael POV

I walked out with Sophia, we were hand in hand. Her small gentle ones were warm in mine.

With her at my side all my emotions came out, all my tears.

She stopped me from walking any further and took both of my hands in hers. She was so emotionally strong I'm so glad she's my destined mate. She's just like my mother, she wasn't physically strong but mentally she was a warrior and without her, dad would have lost it.

"Raphael," she breathed wiping her thumb under my eyes collecting all of my tears, like my mother used to do.

"I know this is very hard on you but now your the new Alpha, you've got a pack to lead, people to appeal to. I'm here for you Raph you can tell me anything, you can always trust me." Her calm voice mellowed my insides and I felt the rest of my anger diminish.

'The lovely lyrics of a mate..' My wolf seemed to be off with the pixies, some people might say.

Soon a smile was embedded in my face. I grabbed Sophia's hands off my face and wrapped them around my waist.

We hugged for about five minutes before I decided to move. I lent down slowly almost touching her small red lips but then stopped as a thought came into my head.

I passed out about a bit before Zac called Genevieve into the kitchen because of my father. If my father had died before Zac reached him which I'm guessing is an almost yes, then I could have passed out because of my new position of alpha...

Before I could continue my thinking Sophia filled in the gap between us and our lips met. The pleasantness of the kiss made me forget what I was doing or planning on doing, as far as I knew, I had to keep this kiss going in whatever way possible.

It ended when I wished it wouldn't. Sophia kept a strong hold of my hand all of the way back to the house.

We entered the kitchen and the atmosphere was a lot lighter then before.

"We think he may have died of a heart attack or poison," Zac said raising his head up to look up at me.

I nodded towards him and looked towards Genevieve, who was in his arms, but she was staring contently at the tiled floor.

"I-I'll be back soon." She said leaving Zac's embrace and eventually leaving the kitchen.

When she was fully gone Zac stood up.

"I'm really sorry mate, but now it is my job as your beta to keep you on track. You need to hold a pack meeting for the whole town. You need to inform them of his death and your new position, as well as Genevieve with what she is... We need to read the legend again and figure out what we need to do for her. And most of all Raphael," he lowered his voice as he came closer to my ear.

"You need to get married."

We sat there in the dining room conferencing what we need to do. Making a list which was going to take quite a white to complete.

Genevieve still hadn't come back so I guessed she was catching some sleep.

"Ok, well we will have to hold the meeting in a-" I was cut off mid-sentence as some knocking echoed through the house. It sounded like the knocking was on wood so I was positive it was coming from the front door.

Zac and I looked towards where the front would be through the wall.

"I'll get it." I slid out of my seat and head towards the front of the house.

I clicked the lock off and smoothly opened the door open.

I took a step back in surprise at the couple standing in front of me.

"Hi, we're here to reinstate a plan for our stay in this town. Can we see the alpha please." Her voice travelled into my head and instantly the reality hit me.

"I am the alpha of this pack." I managed to speak out.

"Awesome. Well you might not remember us, as I remembered you a bit different than what you look like now. So let me re-introduce my husband and I." She started.

I nodded for her to continue.

"This is Joseph, and I'm Paige Somers."
