WEEKS AFTER THE INCIDENT

The guard led Lisa down the prison hallway, the sound of their footsteps echoing against the bare concrete walls. The air was cold and carried the faint smell of disinfectant mixed with something stale.

They passed several locked doors until they reached the visiting area. Rows of booths with glass partitions stood in line, each with a chair and a phone on either side. It looked sterile, quiet, and unwelcoming.

The guard pointed to an empty seat. "You may wait here, Mrs. Park."

Lisa sat down, her eyes fixed on the glass in front of her. All she could see was her reflection, yet she could already feel the weight of what was about to come. Soon, Ha Eun would be brought in, the woman who had tried to drug and overpower her, and who now sat behind bars because of it.

Lisa's hand tightened on the edge of the table. All that separated them now was a sheet of glass. The guard gave a short nod before leaving Lisa at the booth.  Cho Ha Eun walked in, her prison uniform stiff and grey, her eyes sharp and mocking. Even in chains, she carried herself with the same arrogance and taunting that she had shown that day she drugged and tried to violate Lisa.

"Well, well," Ha Eun drawled, voice dripping with mockery.

"Still trembling?"

"I can see it. Your hands, your shoulders..My, my, you're terrified of me." Ha Eun sniggered as she clicked her tongue and shook her head.

Lisa picked up her phone slowly, her breath catching for a moment.

"You'd like that, wouldn't you?"

Ha Eun chuckled.

"I don't have to like it. I know it. You'll never forget that night. The way you froze when you realized what I planned. If  only that bitch Jennie Kim hadn't stepped in... you'd already be broken."

Lisa's throat tightened. The memory was sharp, raw—but she forced herself to look Ha Eun in the eye. "You're right. I won't forget. But not for the reason you think."

"Oh?" Ha Eun leaned forward, eyes glinting.

"Tell me, then. What keeps you awake at night?"

Lisa's grip on the phone steadied. Her fear began to loosen, replaced by something colder.

"Not the thought of what you almost did. What I remember is how pathetic you looked when they dragged you away. Screaming. Cursing. And now here you are, in a uniform, pretending you're still powerful."

The smirk faltered. Ha Eun's jaw clenched.

"Careful." She uttered through gritted teeth.

Lisa allowed herself a small smile.

"Careful? "

"No. I'm done being careful."

 "You wanted to drug me."

"You wanted to trick Chaeyoung, my wife, into going out with you—pretending it was just drinks, when you were planning to line her up for men. You said it yourself before you tried to undress me."

For the first time, Ha Eun's eyes flickered, her mask cracking.

Lisa pressed closer to the glass, her voice calm, almost enjoying it now. Her eyes were  glowing with such wickedness that HA Eun had never witnessed before.

"You tried to ruin me. But here's the thing, Ha Eun."

"You failed."

" And I won't let you just walk away."
