FLASHBACK FEBRUARY 11, 1997 New Zealand
"Appa where are we going?" the 4-year old girl asked her dad the moment they parked out of a huge building. Her Dad then opened the door for her and held her hand while she clings on to it as they walk. The young man looked at her daughter and smiled.
"We're going to see your little sister now Alice."
"Your Mom, finally gave birth this morning." he answered looking at her daughter. He then chuckled when the little girl jumped enthusiastically at the good news.
"Yey. I have a sister now!"
"I have a sister now!" the little girl cheered joyfully as she take few jump steps forward making her dad chuckle more.
"What does she looks like Appa?" the little girl asked inquisitively.
"Oh you'll love her when you see her."
"Your sister has puffy cheeks and plump lips."
"She's so beautiful just like you, Alice." the man answered sweetly which made the little one giggle. They were suppose to enter the building when her Dad guide her to the convenience store instead.
"Let's have some ice cream first before we go inside."
"How's that sound to you sweetie?" the man winked at her which the little one responded with eager nods.
"Ice cream first!" Alice answered grinning while clapping her tiny hands excitedly. They both head straight at the convenience store located besides the hospital.
"I want the strawberry one Appa." Alice pointed out beaming which the young man took and paid at the counter right away. They both sat on the stool near the window and ate their ice cream.
They were eating silently when her father noticed something at her child. Alice was blankly staring at the window as if she's in deep thoughts. Something you wouldn't normally see in a four year old kid.
But Alice is different.
Like everyone said, she's really advanced for her age.
"Ally, is there something bothering you Love?" the man asked softly which brought her to her senses. She looked down shyly and sighed.
"Appa.. I suddenly realized, since I have a baby sister now, does that mean that I am no longer your baby anymore?" the little girl asked shyly but you can feel the sudden sadness in her tone which halted her dad from eating. He then turned to her and cupped her puffy cheeks.
"You will always be our baby, Ally."
"You are our first born child and you will always be special to us."
