IRENE's POV

"Seul can we talk?" I uttered almost a whisper the moment I sat besides her during our lunch at the lounge room. She's still keeping her distance between us, avoiding to join them in their usual table.

"What is it about?" She responded coldly, her gaze still fixed at the book she was reading which is very unlikely of her. Normally, whenever she's the one who approached her first, Seul would always flash her toothy grin and teases me which annoys me the most.

But now she's missing it badly.

She misses her badly for the past few days.

Even though she annoys her the most, Seul is the only person who completes her day.

Yeah it's complicated, but it had always been like that since they were in college.

"Seul, Wendy told me everything. She said that you're the one who searched and found my egg. I just want to say thank you. And about the reward...
I would like to...." I was suddenly cut off when Seulgi interrupted me and answered right away.

"I don't need your reward."

"I'm not that kind of toerag that you always think, Irene."

" Do you honestly believe that I would agree to Jeongyeon's plan so I can take advantage of the situation of earning a kiss from you like you accused about me?" She said coldly.

"Why do you always think so little of me?" she mumbled with pain in her voice. I felt a painful prick in my heart as I watch her talk like that.

I was never a vocal person and expressing my feelings had always been a struggle for me.

"Seul, I'm sorry. I never meant those things I said to you." I said with utmost sincerity but Seul just shook her head and gave me a faint smile.

"Yeah well, I'm sorry too. Cause I meant all the things I had shown you since the beginning."

"All this time I thought you know me Irene."

"Well I guess I'm just that prick that you always see." She said painfully as she try to get up and leave.

She was about to walk away when she turned her gaze on me with tears almost escaping her eyes.

"Do you know that every time you called me that, I'm starting to believe that maybe it's true."

"That I'm that idiot that you would never give your chance to." She finally said and walked away.

Her voice sounded so serious and sad that the talking of the people around us was silenced at once.

"Unnie..." it was Jennie as she comforted me with a tight hug.

"What have I done Jen. I'm so stupid." I mumbled tearing up.

All of the girls were looking intently at us with their worried looks. Chaeyoung nods at Lisa signaling her to follow and talk to Seul. Mino gestured his boys not to ogle at them to give respect for their privacy.

"Just give her some time Unnie. Seul will eventually warm up to you once she returns to her usual self." Jennie whispered at me assuringly.

"I don't know Jen. I really fucked her feelings bad."

"I'm so oblivious and stupid."

"Well you can cry about it or you can choose to act and do something." Jennie said giving me a knowing look.
