LISA's POV
"It's now or never."
I told myself as I stand in front of the building I was working. It's been a year after I left.
Nothing much has changed.
I was staring at it for a moment when I noticed some of the students clamoring and looking at my direction. I sighed heavily and went inside.
It's going to be a long day indeed.
I head straight at the Dean's Office. There are things I needed to settle first before I start working again. The secretary greeted me and signalled me to follow her which I obliged courteously.
"Goodmorning Dr. Shin, Miss Lisa wants to see you." the secretary stated as she bowed her head at the Dean.
"Let her come in. And Miss Jeon, please don't accept any visitor until this meeting is over." she instructed her Secretary.
"Noted Dr. Shin." The secretary obliged and bowed.
"Goodmorning Dear. Come, take a seat." Dr. Shin greeted me warmly the moment I entered her Office.
"Goodmorning Ma'am." I greeted back timidly as I sat at the chair opposite her table.
"How are you Lisa?" She asked sincerely.
"Im fine now Ma'am. Much better than last year I guess?" I answered with all honesty.
There was a long pause of silence.
"Here goes nothing." I said to myself as I mustered all my courage to speak.
"Ma'am I would like to apologize for what happened last year. I know my decisions were rash and ill timing and I know I caused you and my colleagues too much trouble especially on Dr. Kim's part..." I paused suddenly and bowed my head. Feeling quite ashamed on my impulsive behavior last year.
"I just want to say sorry." I stood up and bowed at her.
"My actions were unprofessional and no excuse would be able to justify my actions." I said finally.
Dr. Shin just smiled and gestured me to take a seat.
"Come here Child." the Dean instructed. I returned to my seat and stared at the middle-aged woman smiling at me.
She reached for my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze."With everything that has happened to you, I do understand it Dear"
"That's why I gave you the break that you needed." she smiled.
"And don't worry about us especially Dr. Kim."
" She can handle anything. You know how she always says it. She's Jisoo. She's okay." she said with a chuckle which made me smile.
"But my question now is, are you really in shape now to teach?"
"It's not that I'm questioning your capability because we both know how good you are in this field. "You and Dr. Kim are actually my best assets here in my department."
"I just want to be sure if you will not turn your back on us this time." she said smiling.
I then returned her smile. Dr. Shin has been a great mentor to Jisoo Unnie and me ever since we were students and up to now that we started working here. She was like a second mother to us, guiding and molding us so we can grow professionally.
"No Ma'am." I gave her a warm smile.
We don't leave our family behind." I said sincerely.
