"Kim Jisoo?" I heard a familiar deep voice which made me turn to that direction. I was about to call Lisa to inform her about the duck costume that I bought for her when I suddenly heard someone call my name.
I look at his direction and saw a tall, goodlooking guy with a perfectly chiseled jawline, smiling excitedly at me. I squinted my eyes to get a good look at him even though he's just a couple of meters away from me.
It took me a moment to recognize the man standing not so far away from me.
"Kai?" I uttered in disbelief.
"Goodness I hardly recognize you earlier. You've grown your hair. How are you?" I uttered still shocked upon meeting the only person that I used to avoid years ago. The towering man let out a sheepish smile as he bowed again at me."For a moment I thought you're going to punch me too just like what Lisa did to me years ago." Kai chuckled awkwardly as he scratch his head.
"That was long time ago Kai. Everyone had moved on. But how are you? We never heard from you after the....incident." I said hesitantly.
"I'm good. I moved to Seoul months after that. I'm getting married by the way. I just got here to settle some stuff." he said as he walk closer to me and gave me a friendly hug.
"Woah. That's great. Who's the lucky girl?"
"It's still the same girl." he smiled timidly.
"Oh.. Well congratulations to both of you. I'm happy that you're happy Kai." I said sincerely.
"Uhmm Chu, do you uhmmm..perhaps would like to have coffee with me?"
" If you wouldn't mind."
"It's been a long time. We used to be friends before. There are things that I was not able to tell you." Kai uttered coyly while scratching his nape.
"We are still friends Kai."
"Nothing has changed." I corrected him."
"That's a relief to know Chu..."
"So coffee? For old times sake?" he asked, as he release his signature grin.
"Yeah definitely. You owe me a lot." I joked which he responded with a toothy grin.
We were comfortably enjoying our coffee when I decided to ask him about something. It was really bugging me out for years and I really need to hear it straight from him. He must have sensed what I was thinking so he casually opened up about it.
"Are you going to ask me about why Jennie and I never made it?" he asked calmly as he sips his coffee.
I stared at him and nodded.
"I needed to hear your side too Kai."
"I think you owe me that.""After all, you are still my bestfriend." I said as I shot him a wary look.
"Why did you cheat on Jennie? I mean you loved her so much that time right?""How come you we're able to cheat on someone you truly love?"
Kai looked at me and gave me damp smile.
"I don't know..""Maybe I got tired of wishing that she will finally love me back?" he uttered sadly which I countered right off.
"But she did love you Kai. You're a good person, really. It's not hard to love someone as kind hearted as you." I uttered at him but Kai just smiled and shook his head.
