What if I didn't go to school that day?
What if we took you to the vet sooner?
What if I was able to say goodbye?
What if you didn't die, would we still have more time?
What if you lived into old age?
What if you never had an enlarged colon?
What if you're still there in the mornings when I get ready for school?
What if when I call for you you'll come, like it was an unspoken rule?
What if I miss you?
What if I never went to school that day?
What if mom never found you in our backyard, how would I feel now?
What if I was kinder to you?
What if I was crueler to you?
What if I never loved you, would I still feel blue?
What if I could cuddle with you again?
What if when I said, "see you later guys" I really did see you later?
What if I forget the feeling of your fur?
What if I forget the warmth and comfort you gave me, what if I forget your purr?
What if I didn't have to make a memorial for you?
What if you're still here?
