Chapter 16: Revealed

Maine's POV:

I feel tired right now. Tired of everything! Pagod na pagod na akong pakiusapan ang ex-boyfriend kong tigilan na ako. I don't love him anymore but the pain is still in me. Mabuti na lang talaga may isang taong kaya akong pasayahin even by his simplest thoughtful ways. Thankful rin ako sa trabaho ko na nakaka-goodvibes sa'kin, countered for all the pestering from that jerk Miggy.

I don't know what to do kaya umuwi muna ako to have a peace of mind para may energy naman ako bukas. Fans are expecting too much sa event bukas which is the Yakie Nuptial.

Akala ko maipapahinga ko ang utak at katawan ko ngayon but it turns out to be the other way around.

While I'm going upstairs I hear voices.. It's my Dad and my Mom. I think they are fighting which really surprised me dahil ngayon ko lang narinig silang magtalo kaya nagmadali akong pumanhik. At first hindi pa malinaw ang usapan nila pero habang papalapit ako nagiging malinaw ang bawat salita para sa akin na mas ikinabigla ko pa.

Natigilan ako sa harap ng nakaawang na pinto ng master's bedroom.

"NO! Hindi ako papayag! Sa una pa lang I don't want any of our child to be part of showbiz and other stuffs that can intrude our privacy. Tama na yung nakapasok siya sa isang show. I won't consider the fact that an actor.. well, A WELL-KNOWN ACTOR is courting our daughter!" the man firmly said emphasizing few words with hate in his voice.

"Perhaps give him a chance to prove himself. Bakit ba ayaw na ayaw mo sa kanya?"

**Ano bang pinag-uusapan nila? Naguguluhan ako.Alam ko ayaw ni Dad na mag showbiz ako but what's with the"A WELL-KNOWN ACTOR is courting our daughter thingy.."
I really can't understand the statement.

"You already knew the answer to your question,Honey. Hindi sa ayaw ko ang batang iyon.. Ayoko lang sa mga intriga..mga eskandalo, I'm just protecting our baby girl."

"I understand your point there Honey but that baby girl your talking about is now on her 20's! Nasa kanya pa rin ang desisyon. We just need to support whatever descision she'll make. Nag-hire ka pa talaga ng investigator para malaman kung sino ang manliligaw ng anak mo!You're unbelievable! Tch."

"I JUST WANT TO KNOW KUNG SINO BA ANG LALAKING NAGPAPADALA KAY MAE NG MGA KUNG ANU-ANO THAT'S WHY I HIRED SOMEONE.. ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS HER ON-SCREEN PARTNER!"

"Kilalanin mo munang mabuti yung bata.. Just give him a chance already since alam mo na kung sino siya."

"A NO IS A NO AND THAT'S FINAL! AYOKO SI ALDEN PARA KAY MAE!"

After hearing those words nabitawan bigla ni Maine ang tumbler na kanina niya pa mahigpit na hawak-hawak.

Napatingin bigla si Mr.and Mrs. Mendoza sa kanya with shocked and worried faces.

"What was that all about Mom?"
Maine asked while tears starting to flow from her eyes.

"I guess you heard it all baby girl?" mahinahong tanong ng kanyang ama.

She just nod in response.

"I really don't want that Richard Faulkerson Jr./Alden for you.. I don't want you to have any deeper relation to that person than just being on-screen partners."

Now what? Things are getting more complicated for Maine.
The supposed to be rest day for her became the unusual.

She cried all night realizing that Richard is Alden.

She felt betrayed and stupid like what she felt a year ago from Miggy.

Bakit hindi niya sinabi sa akin na siya si Alden?

Bakit ngayon pa na sa tingin ko nahuhulog na ako sa kanya?

Am I that easy to play with kaya nila ako naloloko agad? :'(

The thoughts make her sleepless that night. Now that everything's revealed, will she able to act like the she used to?
