Third Person View
Life is messed up, remember?
Words echoed through Katie's head, and she looked around the cave, not knowing whether to wake her friends up. What was the point of life anyway? You live, you die. You had to make a lasting change in the world, either a scar or a remedy that would forever be used.
"Well, what's the plan for today?" Melody asked cheerfully, jumping out of bed, then noticed Katie by the entrance.
"Well, I suggest we go back to United TM. I've neve
r been there before, and wasn't that your plan last night?" Katie shrugged.
"True...." Melody replied, thinking about her exact words yesterday. Something caught her attention, though, and she jumped on McKenzie (who made an air bubble in a water bubble around her, an expertise creation according to Melody). "McKenzie, don't you sense something...different about the water around the cave?" she whispered gently but urgently.
"Hmm," McKenzie groaned, and Melody sighed. She hadn't known before that McKenzie Crawford was such a sleepyhead! Unfortunately, she was on her own for dealing with the problem.
"In case you haven't realized it, I'm holding up the moonlight for just a little longer," Katie said, her tone subtly tired. Melody knew that Katie was trying to hide how hard she was working just to keep some moonlight in the cave before everything went dark. Thank goodness Katie's werewolf bites weren't lethal and didn't turn you into a werewolf.
"Thank you, Katie, I'm trying to instantly figure out how to evacuate this cave while you do your games in creepy moonlight," Melody replied, as calmly as she could. Her words were laced with sarcasm, which made Katie roll her eyes and react in an immediate grimace.
"Awesome, because I have to do physical work while you sit on the floor, thinking," Katie nodded in sarcastic understanding, "thinking about how to evacuate the cave when you can just use the front 'door.'" Katie immediately dropped hold of her moonlight, turning the cave into immediate Darkness Heaven and walking effortlessly and exaggeratedly to the cave entrance.
"NO, KATIE!" Melody yelled, grabbing Katie and pulling her down back inside the cave. If she had gone outside of the cave, which was attached to the sea with raging currents...Melody didn't want to think about it.
"What the heck was that for, Mel?" Katie yelped in disbelief. She couldn't sense the motion of the waves, which, unfortunately, left Mel to deal with her and her stubbornness.
"You couldn't have gone outside, or else... THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Melody yelled. Being angry was so much easier than being worried sick about friends and safety.
"What?" Katie asked, confused.
"Okay, let me try and explain this helpless situation to you before it gets too serious," Melody sighed. "McKenzie is not awake, or barely so, so I need you to evacuate carrying her. But I'm getting way ahead of myself, so here: There are raging currents in the ocean all around this cave. This is a huge problem, because soon, in like five minutes or so, the seawater will flood in and we will need to EVACUATE to safety and hopefully survive." Suddenly, Melody sensed something new and more urgent, and her eyes opened wide she explained her new feelings to Katie. "There is now an upcoming riptide, which are really hard to survive but we have to try. Hopefully, if we have the best of luck, we'll only get drenched and still be alive, obviously making it to United TM. If we have no luck at all, we might as well commit suicide right now because it doesn't make any difference except about two less minutes being alive."
"But--" Katie started, but Melody cut her off.
"This is no time to worry about your non-waterproof nail polish or whatever," Melody said sternly.
