Today is the day, my big Katherine debut.
The past few days have been rough, I've woken up screaming every night from nightmares. Sky has stayed with me every night since the incident but he doesn't even know the full story of what happened that night.
--
I brace myself for what's next to come. The closet door swings open and soon enough someone is grabbing me by the collar of my shirt.
I feel a cold metal being placed against my temple. I open my eyes and see a gun is being placed at my head.
And this is how I'm going to die.
"Stop, we agreed no casualties this time, unless needed," another person comes in.
"Fine," the person holding me says before slamming me down on the ground and kicking me in the ribs. "There's nothing good here anyways," they say and the other one goes and climbs out the window.
The one still here leans down to me.
"You saw nothing," he spits before pulling me by my hair and slamming my head on the ground, causing the world to go black.
--
Thankfully, no real damage was done, at least physically, I have a bruise by my ribs but I'm almost positive my head is fine. Though, mentally and emotionally I'm a wreck, I can't close my eyes without feeling and picturing the gun pressed against my head.
Of course I'll never tell anyone about what actually happened. Not the police, not my siblings, not even Sky. I'm just going to keep it to myself. It's better this way. I don't want anyone to have to worry about my mental state.
Though today I feel unstoppable. I'm going to be making my debut as Katherine and I'm going to do amazing.
My phone starts ringing on the counter and I pick it up to see Natalie is calling me.
"Hey, Natalie," I say when I answer.
"Hey, what time are you going to be getting here?" She asks.
"Wait, you're already there?" I ask almost dropping my eyeliner.
"Yeah, well it's just me right now," she says. "I'm still waiting on the others, but they're on there way," she explains.
"Well, I'm almost done getting ready," I say, which is not true. "By the way Sky is coming with me and don't tell Cassie but Ben is coming too," I say.
"Okay, I'm not going to get offended on the fact that you are bringing cute Newsies and you're considering it a surprise for Cassie and not me," she says. "I see how it is," she laughs.
"Whatever," I laugh. "I need to finish getting ready I'll see you guys in a bit," I say. "Bye," I say.
"Bye," she says then I hang up.
I text Sky and Ben to tell them that we are going to leave in a few minutes. I look at myself in the mirror, I have my makeup done except for eyeliner, but I'm still in my pajamas and have no clue what I'm going to wear. Why did I do my makeup first? Who does their makeup before getting dressed? I'm all out of whack.
I quickly do my eyeliner and to my surprise it ends up perfect my first try. I walk over to my suitcase and look through my clothes. I put on some black jeans with a red and blue flannel, I also wear a gray beanie and slip on some short combat boots. This should do, it's looks like this could've taken a lot of time. Plus my hair looks really good in a beanie since I curled it.
