I felt someone's arms around me and forced my eyes open to see Adrian hovering over me on the ground. Did he just forget to protect himself in that moment?

Everyone was trying to figure out if anyone was hurt but they could barely see anything through all the smoke. Yes. It was a smoke bomb. I'd never harm Romero. Diana will kill me.

"Are you okay?" He whispered and I looked at him. His eyes searched every inch of my face. I smiled. "I'm okay. Get off me." I whispered and he let out a sigh before helping me up to my feet.

The smoke finally cleared up and Romero was still on the ground with Diana beside him, making sure he was okay. Jace walked up to us and shook his head at me. I smirked. "You're so crazy Z." He said before pulling me into a hug. I let him because I've missed him too.

Adrian ordered his men to stand down and they immediately obeyed. "I didn't think you'd come this soon." He said looking down at me. I rolled my eyes and started making my way towards the house. He chuckled and followed behind me.

The men parted in two again as I came through with Adrian behind me. Oh wow. Peak energy. I thought. That felt so good.

A meeting was called in Adrian's office with a few men he trusted completely. I sat in his chair and spun around in it. Oh this I definitely missed. Someone cleared their throat but I ignored them. If I can remember clearly their Don was standing there. He called the meeting not me.

"Baby? I'm gonna need your undivided attention here." Adrian said as his hand stopped the chair when I faced him. I pouted and sighed. He smiled and kissed my cheek before turning back to the men who stared in shock. I smirked.

"You're certain Mason will know you infiltrated the mafia?" Maddox asked and I responded with a simple nod. Just then Min Sung walked in and I blinked. She looked hot. Way hotter than usual. Her normally straight hair was curly and voluminous. She wore a black tube top and black loose joggers and white sneakers and carried her laptop and phone in hand.

The men stared openly except for Adrian, Jace and Romero. Hades had his eyes fixed on her, I noticed.
It's not news to me that Min Sung had the figure of a model. She just hides it under all the baggy corporate outfits she wears to work.

"Annyeong! Word will reach Mason in at least 48 hours." She said with a smile as she set her laptop down. I clapped my hands together gaining all their attention. "The plan is to get him to a location and I'll take the rest from there." I said and Adrian and Hades frowned in disagreement. Fuck them both.

"Where are we thinking of?" Romero asked and I shrugged. "Anywhere away from civilians that's for sure. We don't want unwarranted deaths."Diana replied. We mapped out a strategy of attack and when that was done, Adrian sent everyone out. I stood up to follow but he stopped me.

"Not you."

I yelled as he grabbed me by the waist and I was pressed into his body in a hug. I relaxed into the hug and wrapped my arms around his neck as he inhaled. These past few months must have been hard on him. I let my hand run through his hair, gently massaging it. "Fuck...I've missed you Angel." He whispered lowly and I sucked in a breath.

He will be the death of me and I am his undoing. A truth we both know well.

"I'm sorry for these past months." I whispered. He shook his head and patted my head softly. "It had to be done. Staying together would only put everyone in danger. I understand that." Sighing, I hugged him again and squeezed tightly. I really really missed him.

"Zara!" Jenna engulfed me in a hug before I could protest. I frowned. This is too much physical contact in one day. I thought.

I blinked as tears streamed down her eyes. "It's been hell without you here! You don't just walk into someone's life, upend it and then waltz out! That is mean and that's what you did to the mafia!" She cried and I smiled softly at the hysterical teen.

This time, I reached out and wrapped her in a hug as her cries reduced to sniffles. "You're a good hugger, you know that right?" She mumbled and I chuckled. I let go and she took in a deep breath.

"You look great. How have you been?" She asked and I shrugged. "Good. Good. Just on the run. With many people out for me, I'm being very cautious of my locations. Not that it's a problem anymore. I'm back home." I said the last sentence without even realizing.

Home.

She smiled and together we sat down in the living room to catch up on the last months and what happened during that time.

Min Sung ran into the room about an hour later, out of breath. I stood up immediately and instinctively pushed Jenna behind me. "Yah. Wae?" I asked as she just crumbled to the ground still trying to catch her breath.

She pointed behind her before speaking. "I think Mason has finally come for you. I think." I started waiting for further explanation. "There are dozens of cars outside the property." Diana said walking in and joining us in the middle of the room.

I raised an eyebrow in question. "How many?" She paused for a second, thinking. "About 20 or so."

I scoffed. "20 cars? Really? For just Zara?" Diana nodded in answer to Jenna's question. I sighed and looked at Min Sung. "Are we set to go? Have you told Adrian about the plan?" I shook my head before turning to Jenna. "Go. Find your brother and Jace. Tell these exact words to Jace: Wrap a baby donkey. Go! Now!" I said ignoring the confusion on her face as she turned to leave.

I took off Adrian's cost that he had stubbornly put me in earlier and placed it on the couch leaving me back in my S.I habit.

"Let's go."
