Mina's POV

"Bye, mom! I'll be back later!"

"Okay sweetie, have fun!!" mom replied as I waved for the last time.

I'm off to my friend Jihyo's birthday now and it was in a V.I.P. function room with karaoke at a new hotel.

I brought my gift and rode a taxi. I'm too lazy to drive the car tonight, and there might be drinking.

When I arrived, I looked for the room and when I entered she screamed in excitement seeing me.

The rest of our friends were already there, and I sat with them.

We had so much fun taking turns singing songs and eating lots of food, even Jihyo's mom brought her special shrimp pasta.

Suddenly, Jihyo ordered an expensive wine. She gave each of us a glass. I didn't drink much since I'll be going home alone, but it was surprisingly strong even with just a sip.

Time flew so fast the party was already over. Most of my friends we're going to be fetched by their drivers or driving their own cars, and I also waited patiently for an Uber.

While waiting, we just helped the birthday girl take good pictures of her.

Finally, one by one, my friends started to leave. Even I told Jihyo she could go now, and I'll eventually find an Uber.

There were barely any drivers that accepted my booking. Even taxis barely passed by.

It was getting late, and if I had to be honest, I'm a little tipsy. Suddenly, it started raining really hard, which made it more difficult for me to wait for a ride outside.

I sighed as I called my mom, "Mom, I'm sorry, I might get home really late. There were barely any drivers accepting my booking, and it started raining really hard."

"Don't mind me here, sweetie, it's not like you're a helpless teenager anymore. Book yourself a room there. It's really late now, and the power's down in the neighborhood. I know you'll die without WiFi and air-condition."

I chuckled. She wasn't wrong. "Alright, mom, I'll just check in here instead, I'll see you tomorrow. Call me when the power is back, okay?"

I ended the call, and as I turned back to approach the reception area, I paused in surpise when a blonde woman with a wolf cut, wearing a red tuxedo, was right behind me.

"Sorry if you find this...rude. But I just accidentally heard your conversation on the phone. It seems you'll be having a lonely night, but I could change that."

Chaeyoung's POV

Finally, that business party was over. It's late now, I'll just book a room here instead.

While going down the stairs,I spotted a sophisticated lady near the reception area. She's wearing the newest Chanel tube dress I know anywhere because that exclusively comes from my V.I.P. department store.

As I got down, I smirked, I didn't mean to listen, but her conversion was loud enough for me to understand her situation this evening.

"What makes you think so?" she replied to my offer with a smirk.

I chuckled, "The moment I saw a goddess standing alone, I just know her night can't be spent alone being bored without good company in this luxurious hotel."

She giggles, "What do you think makes you a good company for me, Ms.-?"

"Chaeyoung," I introduced myself.

Then I added, "Well, for one, I doubt you would've continued this conversion if you didn't find me intriguing Ms.-"

"Mina" she finishes.
