The Lord of Malevolence

-3rd POV-

Malleus looked around, seeing that he was in what seemed a game, "Where am I? And where are Shroud and Rosehearts? What are these frames floating in the air...? "Stories"? "Lessons"? Where have they sent me? Such feeble defiance." He said.

A laugh was heard. "Ahh, what lovely graphics. How my heart soars!"

"That voice..." He looked around for the male, "Shroud?"

"Welcome, Malleus...to a Twisted Wonderland made by me, for me!" Idia said.

"What have you done?"

"Aw, buzzkill. Fine, I'll lay it out for you. I've re-classed you from a game admin to an in-game character."

"An in-game character...? What do you mean?"

"I mean that now you're a character in a fairy tale." He laughed.

"What nonsense is this? As long as my arcane realm remains in place, this world is entirely beholder to my will. Just wait. I'll be back in your room before you..." He tried to use magic to teleport, but he stayed in place, "Hm? My teleportation magic isn't working. Why would that be?"

He chuckled, "What's wrong? Can't move under your own power? Of course you can't. Without input from the player...the character set to the home screen can't act at all. That's how the system works in my TW! Oh, it's just terrible that you're imprisoned there. Who could've done such a thing?"

"How dare you, Shroud...!"

"Now that I've got your voice clips registered, let's get started. Just gonna tap on home and then take you to the event screen!"

A light appeared beneath the overblot male, which he tried to move away from, but was kept in place.

"Rgh...What is this?! I can't resist it? Gh...Aaagh!" Malleus said as he then disappeared from the screen.

In a room with big screens that showed what seemed to be a game, and a chair with wires coming out in the middle of the room as there were other chairs below with screens.

Idia chuckled as he now wore a Styx uniform and had a coat hanging from his shoulders, "Time to start the limited-time battle event...NRC: The Lord of Malevolence - Overthrow the Overlord!" He grinned, before he fell to his knees, letting out a breath, "It...It worked...It actually ran right outta the box!" He muttered as he got up.

"I coded this under constant fear of leaks and constraints so tight I couldn't even run it through an alpha test. And with a surprise bumped-up deadline. It's a miracle this code even runs...I never want an "exciting" release again. If this were the real world, no app platform would ever approve this build! And I opted to call the event itself something cool, rather than concise."

"But did I make it too cheesy? Guess this is no time to get hung up on that. Sadly, a dev's job isn't over on release day. But!" He chuckled as he sat on his seat, "Now it's time to enjoy the fruit of my cheat labors. First, I'll change the background and BGM." He did as so, typing, "Gotta have the Mirror Chamber if I'm gonna summon Night Raven College students. Now to turn on debug mode!"

"I'll set my inventory to have 999 SSR Celebratory Magical Keys! These are items designed to look like the golden keys that summon students through gates at our orientation ceremony. The "celebratory" versions are special keys that only work within this realm. These will give me guaranteed summons of the SSR characters that I gave invite link codes to. Do those details even matter right now, you ask?"

"Magic is about imagination! Details like that matter more than anything!" He then deadpanned at himself, "...Aaand now I'm having a conversation with myself, lawl. Anyway...Ahem! Bearer of dark powers, I call thee forth!"
