"Ah, okay. So you're all helping Ace train with his signature spell." Trey said, after he and the two other upperclassmen got an explanation, "Thanks for helping out one of our freshmen."

"I mean, I heard Ace had gotten a cool signature spell, so I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. So don't read anything into it, because I'm not here to help him train." Jack said.

"Likewise for me." Sebek cut in, "Since his spell is a sneaky one that lets him rob others' spells, I was simply trying to ensure it was properly controlled." He smirked in smugness, "And in fact, he failed to use my spell when he stole it! Hmph!"

"Rob? Wow, rude." Ace looked at him, "Joker's Snatch just switches one spell with another. I'm not "robbing" people! It exchanges a spell of mine with a spell from the target. That's it." He corrected.

"What a tricky spell. That's neat!" Epel smiled.

"But you have to have a read on the cards in the opponent's hand to accurately make the switch. That increases the spell's difficulty level by a considerable degree-" Ortho was cut off.

"Quiet in the courtyard!" Riddle exclaimed, startling the freshmen, "I understand that you weren't fighting, and that you were conducting magical training. However, doing that here still constitutes a breach of etiquette."

"For sure! You freshies don't have a perfect control over your magic yet. What if you accidentally hit some passer-by and injure them? That'd be a huge mess." Cater nodded.

"Um, sorry..." The ADeuce duo said.

"If you want to do training with magic, you should do it in our dorm's rose maze. It's a little cramped for spell-slinging, but if you ask Riddle, he could order the roses to make some space for you."

"Order the roses...?" The lilac haired male questioned in shock.

The technomantic boy nodded, "All of the roses in Heartslabyul's maze are magical plants. The roses reconfigure the maze layout via orders from the housewarden. Isn't that right, Trey Clover-san?"

The said male nodded, "Yeah. I'm impressed you remembered that after we only went over it once, Ortho."

He giggled, "I also haven't forgotten that you told me I'm welcome to come visit."

"Ooh, the maze layout changes? Cool!" Epel smiled.

"Diasomnia has magical plants too!" Sebek boosted, "They're the briars that Malleus-sama ordered to imprison you all in the dorm!"

"Why are you bragging about that?" Jack sweatdropped.

"Talk about creepy." Grim shook his head.

Ace sighed, "I wanted to practice on the down-low since the housewarden would nitpick if he found out."

"I'm standing right here, you know. You must be quite eager to lose your head." Riddle smiled.

"Now now, housewarden. Training to take full ownership of his spell is laudable." Trey chuckled.

"You're not fooling me, Ace-chan. You just wanted to get a handle on it in private so you could get a bunch of props later, right?" Cater smiled.

"Augh, would you guys lay off and make us a space in the maze already?!" The freshman slightly blushed.

"Ooh, so your signature spell lets you swap your own magic for someone else's." Cater said, amazed.

Trey nodded, "That's amazing. It'll be one powerful spell once you master it."

Ace chuckled, "Right? But it's pretty tricky to actually use. I can't use shapeshifting magic like Jack even if I swap in his spell."
