All the stories I've read are 'What happened after Ira got his memory back?' This is 'What if he didn't get his memory back just yet?' This is my first story and I only wrote it when I was 12 so be nice to me (Its cringy deal with it)
The first thing I notice is the heat, how could I not it's like fire on my skin. But what else would I expect from the closest planet to the sun.
"Shields!" Natalie says. I reach into my pack and press a cold metal circle to my chest. A relieved sigh passes through my lips as the cool of my heat shield closes around me.
"Much better" Regina says.
I open my eyes and take in the land. It's barren, the soil is red and cracked, the gaps filled with molten lava. Dead trees stand alone on the ground, ash filters through the black sky and into my lungs, causing me to cough repeatedly.
I dig through the bag and find an oxygen mask pressing it over my mouth and nose, I clip it behind my head as I allow air to fill my lungs. I turn to see Regina and Natalie looking at me "Are you ready?" I ask. They nod and I pull a tablet out of my bag, "Ok Jonny said the flower was call a Hatis." I pull up an image

"This is what we're looking for. According to this, the Hatis has a little bit of dark energy infused into it's petals. Not enough to kill someone but enough to brew a tea that will counteract the amount of love and heal Rachel." The girls nod.
"Does that thing have a map or are we supposed to find this Hatis on our own?" Regina asks. I mess around with the tablet, pressing random buttons until a holographic map emerges from the screen.
"Ok so it says it only grows at the base of that volcano." I point to the volcan about a day's walk from us. The map gives out a warning sign and my eyes widen. "And it's supposed to erupt in 3 days"
Regina speaks up "Three days?! We're so far away! It could take forever!"
Natalie shrugs "Or we could teleport"
I shake my head "We can't. The radiation from the sun doesn't allow us to teleport properly, if we try we could accidentally end up inside the volcano or even on another planet. We have to walk."
Regina groans "Noooooo" I roll my eyes and we set off on our journey.
Regina POV
My. Feet. Hurt. Who invented walking? Why can't humans just fly? I shake my fist at the stupid sun and it's stupid radiation. "How far till we get there?" I ask Nat
She rolls her eyes "Regina we've only been walking for an hour or two."
I groan "Can't we fly?"
Ira shrugs "you can try, gravity is stronger here so it might not work."
I focus all my energy on flying, I am lighter than a feather, lighter than a feather. My feet start to hover and I sigh in relief "Much better."
"It's gonna take a lot of power to hold that up." Ira says, "Maybe save it just in case."
I groan in misery but float back down. "The chances of us meeting anyone out here are almost zero."
Ira nods and says pointedly "Exactly, almost zero isn't zero, so be on alert and save your energy."
I frown and continue walking,
paranoid little-
I can hear you.
DANG IT! I CAN'T EVEN COMPLAIN IN MY HEAD!
Nope. Why'd you even ask to come if you were gonna complain all the time?
...Because as much as I hate walking, I'd never send my little brother and sister to the deadliest planet in the galaxy alone.
Ira smiles at me
I love you too.
I DIDN'T SAY THAT
You thought it.
DANG IT!
Ira laughs and Natalie glares at us, "Can you guys stop doing those secret mind conversations, you're making me feel left out."
Ira laughs "Sorry sis."
We keep walking and I notice everyone getting tired. "Guys let's rest for a bit." We sit down and I hiss in pain when my hand touches the ground "Ow! Stupid planet!" I yell in frustration.
Ira and Natalie start to laugh "You didn't put on your gloves?"
I open my bag and find a pair heat resistant gloves "You didn't think to mention these earlier?!" They laugh again and I roll my eyes.
Ira looks at the volcano, only a mile away, "What if this doesn't work" he says quietly. "What if we get the flower, brew the tea, and nothing happens." He pulls his knees to his chest and says quietly "What if Rachel dies..."
My eyes soften and Natalie leans on his shoulder "Ira, she'll be ok. The tea healed Marie Angelica, it has to heal Rachel."
Ira sighs "Yeah but what if this was all a big coincidence, what if they had two different sicknesses and the petals just make her worse." He sniffs and tears fill his eyes "I...I can't lose her...not again."
I scoot over and wrap my arms around him, "You won't lose her Ira. We won't let it happen."
He nods and wipes his tears "Thanks guys."
"We're all tired, and we've been walking for hours, why don't we sleep for a bit before we keep going." Natalie says, pulling out the tent and sleeping bags.
3rd person
As the three siblings sleep safely in their tent, a tall figure watches them with a smirk on her face "Well well well, seems like someone needs a flower to heal his wittle girlfwend, would be a shame if something happened to those special flowers." The figure says, smirking as dark energy coils around her fingers.
AAAAHHHH I'M SORRY I'M SORRY I'M SORRYYYYYYYY 😭 I know it took me a long time but I was tryna figure out how to make it not boring but still relay the information, as you can see, I failed 😅 Sorry for the short chapter, the next few should be longer and more exciting. And I'm working on updating more often it's just my ADHD brain.
Comment if you liked it or any ideas you have to make it better (Lord knows I need them) ❤️❤️❤️
