Outside, Baba stood using healing magic to restore her allies. She started with Crafty, followed by Hoppy, then Picky, and finally Bubba; clearly, she had healed herself after helping everyone. The weather in the city was cloudy, about to rain; it was also mid-afternoon, and it was beginning to get dark.
Bubba was calm, yet thoughtful and with a tired look; his lightbulb earring seemed cracked. Hoppy was hugging Picky, rubbing her head against the pig's chest, who returned the affection by stroking the tufts of fur on the rabbit's head. Crafty timidly approached the two girls and was quickly welcomed.
— This is problematic. We left, but they haven't yet, — Bubba commented. — How long has it been, ten minutes?
— If it's taking so long, it's because a fight is going on. If one of them dies, she'll show up here to finish the job... — Baba replied.
— I don't want to lose Dogday… — Crafty said sadly.
— We don't want to lose anyone, I don't even know where my father is yet, — Hoppy said, clenching his fists.
— He's fine, I sent him to Sigma Base... Mael must have taken care of him by now, — the elephant added.
Silence hung in the air; the city was once again quiet. The five exchanged glances to see who would start speaking again and break the silence.
Far away, a dirty place… filthy, tiles green with grime, slime hanging from the ceiling, and a lamp in the center, flickering weakly and flickering slightly. Catnap stood there, looking with calm anger at Bobby, who maintained a neutral gaze and crossed his arms.
From one of the bear's paws, a colorful and bright chain made of magic stretched down to the ground, and behind Bobby, Dolly, tired and with the chain tied around her neck. Dogday was frightened, behind his father's legs, his tail completely between his legs, so tight you could even hug him;
"This place... is made entirely of magic, but this magic... it's not good, not at all..." thought the boy, almost trembling.
— Now you want to kill me, I can see that... — Bobby commented.
— I already knew about your plan, I could have cooperated, but you chose to touch what I care about most... — The anger became more apparent.
— Your chicken?
— I can make exceptions for Kickin, but you touched the thing I truly love most... you touched my son, tied him up with chains, and even put a muzzle on him, — he gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.
— Oh, don't be resentful... I didn't hurt him, I just contained him, — Bobby smiled briefly.
— You only reminded him of the worst moments of his life… and now you're going to make him experience another one. You don't want to kill us, you want me to lower my head and fulfill your wish.
The bear lost her smile, stared at the cat for a while. She raised her arm and threw a sphere of magic in his direction, Catnap simply tilted his head to the side and the blow hit the wall behind him, stones fell but Dez protected Dogday from the rubble.
— He dodged by simply turning his head… you knew I wasn't going to hit you directly…
Yes, I knew...
Catnap raised one of his hands and brought out his weapon, an iron rod with a crescent-shaped blade at the end. He spun it quickly and then stopped it with the blade pointed at the ground. Bobby smiled, pulled the chain, and brought Dolly in front of him, causing her to fall to the ground, her hair becoming even more disheveled.
