The next day, Dogday's rapid progress was noticeable; it took him almost a full day to reach level sixty. Nathan recommended not wasting his mana that day, and that the XP would be more important for now, helping the boy overcome various challenges.

Dogday was almost ready, or at least ready to start doing missions alongside Hoppy, so Nathan went to a guild and got some missions for him to do as a form of basic training, all of them medium risk and involving rescues or searching for items.

Guided to "Lunar Valley," someone ended up being cornered in a cave by local species. Lunar Valley is a plain of yellow grass, twisted trees, and flattened canopies, and dotted with stones engraved with runes—runes that spelled "cold."

The local species are mostly fire-type, but there are wood-type species, and they spend a lot of time near these stones with the runes, the rest of the fire-type species keep walking through the plains.

— This place is hot, and it seems to be getting hotter than before… — Dogday said as he walked around looking for something like a cave.

— Lunar Valley, this place used to be cold, but after Vritra entered a fight in these regions, it changed both the climate and the geography of the place — said Nathan, walking a few steps behind the boy.

— Vritra? Who is this?

— The main avatar of the Creator, before you ask, Avatar is a representative of something higher, mainly of gods.

Dogday agreed and returned to his search. It wasn't long before the cave was spotted. It was near the center of the place, where there was a small lake. Nathan gave him permission to enter and help whoever ended up trapped inside.

The fox stayed outside and waited for the boy, but first, he had an idea, there was someone in those parts who could help the boy with his training, only one fight was necessary.

Inside the cave, Dogday found the contractor, a human adult who appeared to be an explorer. The boy told him who he was and that he had come to rescue him. Strangely, the cave was already empty, and both entry and exit were easy.

Outside, the man seemed to freeze in fear, and just handed over the money and left on foot, using a teleport item almost immediately after a few steps.

— Ah, a charlatan… he was scared when he saw me — Nathan said, smiling a little.

— A charlatan? He was going to deceive us? — Dogday asked, a little confused.

— Yes, he would, take you hostage and extort my money, but since it was “me,” he reconsidered and didn’t even act. Let’s get going… — he started walking

— Ah, that makes sense, at least he paid me… but hey, tell me something, Nathan, why does everyone call you “the strongest in the world”? — continued the fox.

Nathan explained why, in addition to all the people he faced and defeated, he had political influence and could get a lot of things if necessary. Many hated him for it, others thanked him. Dogday asked for an example, and the fox gave it. The idea of chains being coated with metal that strengthens with blows was his.

Back home, the boy flopped down on the couch and smiled briefly. Nathan's daughter offered him water, which he drank calmly. Then, awkwardly, he asked for food. The fox waited, watching the boy rest, but then sat down in his armchair, this time reading a book.

The boy, after taking a simple nap on the couch—he wiped his feet first, of course—began to practice his magic right there, simple things like spheres and other shapes that came to mind. Impressed by what he could do right there, Dogday left the house and began training outside.
