It was dark, and his tired body was unable to do anything but open his eyes. Dogday could see his father's figure, frustrated and pacing back and forth, arguing with the shadow. The place itself was dark, reminiscent of the prison he'd been in before, but strangely soft and cozy.

Managing to sit up without attracting attention, the boy noticed he was in a place with a bed, reminiscent of Catnap's room, only in terms of structure, as there was no other furniture besides the bed. His vision was still blurry and his legs were failing;

— Dogday? Son… — said the cat, approaching and throwing himself on his knees at the foot of the bed.

— Ha… father… — his voice was weak, he smiled and lifted one of his paws.

He stroked the cat's head, wondering at the horns, but continued petting. The cat calmed down and soon heard his father purring. His tail wagged, and he whimpered a little at his father's affection. Catnap quickly hugged the boy and began to cry.

Dogday was quite surprised by the cat's tears, hugged back and continued to stroke the feline's head.
